I'm from California and frequent the desert to go riding quads and sandrails with my family. However, while in Dumont Dunes, a place we have been frequenting at least 7 times a year for the past 10 years, we had our quads stolen from our camp. This is a place where trust has never been an issue. People trust everybody there and generosity flows. If somebody need help a part, or anything at all usually the others are there to help. However this trust was taken advantage of.

while sitting in camp having breakfast, a woman walks up and explains that she had lost her dog about 15 minutes ago and is going camp to camp asking people to cruise around to help find it. So naturally we hop in the sandrails and go for a cruise to see if we can come up with anything. However, upon our return, we noticed something wrong. Our two quads were gone. So naturally we went back out for another ride, more of a scouting mission now and needless to say came up empty handed. Called the police but nothing was done. Nobody showed, only took a report over the phone wiht the vin numbers and registration information.

Bottom line, this is a total bummer because its not like we have the money to buy new ones. But seriously, the point here is to really keep your eyes open and watch who you trust. Think twice with this terrible, terrible economy. People will do anything for a buck.

Man that sucks. It's getting sad when people do something like this to other people it makes it really hard to trust anyone. I can't believe the cop's didn't put forth more of an effort.
