You mentioned you were going to buy an Enzo before you die. I say don't sell yourself so short. I just got finished reading the C&D article on the Veyron "Transformer" the mad scientists at Buggati finally finished tweaking.

16 Cyl, 4 Turbos, AWD, AND a 7 speed DSG tranny!
Then @ 187 MPH it atuomatically drops from the 4.9" ride height to 3.2" and deploys a rear wing and underbody diffusers for stability and restraint. (Meaning they stabilize the car while at the same time governing the car to 187 MPH.) To go past 187 MPH you have to come to a complete stop, turn the keyed release located on the floor just in front of the driver's seat, and verify tire pressure (and that no one is in your way). The wing slides back in (but not completely), the diffusers close, and the height drops even further  to 2"!
I say you sell every car you own (plus a couple of your neighbors') for the $1.5 mil it would cost to get one and watch every Enzo owner scatter like roaches after the "click". Not convinced? Chew on these numbers:
4300lbs
1,200+ HP
0-100 : 6 seconds!
1/4 mi in 10 seconds @ 140+ MPH!
Top speed 253 MPH!
15" Carbon/Ceramic Brakes (I forgot what the exact material is)
8 piston calipers Front/ 6 piston Rear
Panic stop w/ 2.0g of deceleration force!

Did I mention

Funny thing is....I'd bet his 69 Camaro would give that car a run for its money. :willy:

I respect the pure engineering in a Bugatti, but I never really found them attractive. Id take an Enzo over that, and I still love the 430 Spider the best out of that line.

Keep in mind that at 4300 lbs the Bugatti is 1300 lbs heavier than the 3000 lb Enzo. That's a HUGE factor when it comes to handling. Also, the HP of the Bugatti is *only* 987, not 1200+. The horsepower gauge on the dash (seriously) only goes up to 1001. LOL.

Still an impressive car but given the extreme mass it may be a bit scary on a roadcourse. I was at the historics at Lagnua Seca when their test driver spun the 16.4 prototype off into the dirt at turn 3. LOL. The car is best suited for straight line and/or high banked oval blasts. Their goal was to create the fastest "production car"-- in a straight line. Also keep in mind the McLaren made 241mph and did so while being much, much more trackworthy at only 2500 lbs.

I'd still want one though, because it's an amazing design excersize. :D

The last silly-supercars I drove were an F-40 and an F-50. I'd have taken the F-40 over the F-50. I haven't had the opportunity to drive an Enzo and probably never well, but I would expect good things from it. I also bet it would be a blast to turn the "second key" on the Bugatti to turn the active aero features over to top speed configuration, find a long straight stretch, and hold the right pedal down for a good long time.

That does it. I'm installing a "2nd key" in my Camaro.

It is cool and fast  , but for that kind of money it had better be. I don't know, it would be cool to see and (if possible) drive, but even if I had that kind of money I wouldn't buy one :) . That goes for the Enzo also for that matter, it is extremely cool and fast, but I just wouldn't look right getting in/out of one.

As long as the track has 3 turns, you're probably right.

Maybe the Enzo can corner better, maybe not. Sure the lighter car would be easier to handle going left & right. But even w/ 987HP (didn't the engineer say 1200hp in the article?) the Bug (ha ha VW - Bug) is only pushing 4.4 lbs/hp. That is two less than an Enzo. So getting off the line quicker and out of the corner faster w/ AWD, the advantage goes to the Bugatti. (If of course the driver is better than their test driver. )
I like the performance selection that allows AWD burnouts!

Not me. I thought 1k hp would be cool but after reading all the safety features designed into this car I think I will tone down my 56. If you turn the wheel too quickly while in "Ludacris Speed" mode the wing and diffusers come out to put the car back in the mode that limits you to 187 MPH. That's smart.

To me, cars like the F-40/50 and Enzo are too much like race cars. I like mine to be a little more 'passanger car' like, if you will.

If I had $700,000 to spend, the first thing I'd buy is......well, a house actually. but if I had any left over it would go towards a 555 Maranello V12 or the Aston Martin Vanquish with Paddle-Shifted Manumatic trans and V12.

2 cars right there that really get my testosterone pumping. But to each his own.

The Maranello is a great car. I sold mine last year and it was a really nice GT car. It ran mid 12's@118 and was very comfortable to drive. The 360 is alot more "fun" to drive, but doesn't have the torque of the V12..

I did lower mine/ Fiske wheels and Cargraphic exhaust..

yea, that car is pretty ugly I can see why you got rid of it...right. Very nice.

I have seen the same cars in your signature for a while now. What makes a car a keeper for you? Or maybe a keeper longer than usual.

Streetking....Good Lord, she's beautiful. Tell me you weren't cryin' in your pillow when that little sweet heart left. I know I would have been.

However....this might have helped to ease my pain. Which I'm sure it did for you. :D

SW,

Just drove by a Ferrari dealership yesterday near where I am moving. They had an ENZO in the showroom. Do you want the contact info ?
