I know I've seen one car on here with a 17 x 9.5 and a 245 tire on the front of a 1st gen camaro. Will a 275 fit? If so what is needed to make it work? Thanks!

Scroll down to "How To Swallow a 275/40/17 Tire On All Four Corners" on Carl casanova's page: http://www.geocities.com/casanoc/

By the way, Carl's now running 285/40/17's at all four corners.

Good info. I wonder if the speed tech arms allow for more clearance than my global west arms?

I have a 18x9.5 with a 275 front on stock subframe. Preliminary turning radius seems okay (may not bump stops) but I will have it on the road in the next week or so for testing....

And I read CarlC's page too before proceeding.

I lied. I looked back and the first front wheel I ordered was 18x9.5 with a 5.5" BS, and that didn't line up right. I blew it on that deal.

Sent it back and it came out as a 18x9 with a 6.25" BS.

It sounds as if the first point of contact is typically the stock frame. If you weren't to contact the rails, at what point do you run out of room in the inner fender?
My plan is for a front sub based upon C5 components, with narrower rails. I'm undecided on front wheel at this point. I'd love to fit a 9 to 9.5" wheel (either 17 or 18) with no rub.
