i cut the rails off and instead of just rounding it over ,i had a line moulded into it close to the edge.it really looks great in my opinion.
question is about the chrome weatherstrip channel that gets screwed to the body itself.now the drip rails are gone .what is the correct way to have them installed?do they get trimmed?painted black?or can they be ditched and a special weaterstrip be used?
thank you

No trimming necessary. The trim isnt as tall as the weatherstrip or the flange that is on the interior side of the top (Where the pinch moulding goes that covers the Headliners attachment....Just paint them black, they fit right under. Like this.
The flange seen in the pic is the flange that accept the pinch mouling... it is actually hidden by weatherstrip...

Robert,
Very nice. I'd like to do the same to my '67. I think it will look great with your seamless glass kit. Can you provide more detail on how you did this, maybe some more pics of the work in progress (if you have any).
Thanks again!

I cant seem to find the pics of the actual cutting.. But what you see here is after they are cut off.. The rise just at the edge of the top is the factory shape of the top. I accented the factory rises by cutting a slight V-Channel at the edge of this rise. It just highlights it a bit from the side profile. We tried the totally smooth look, but from the side profile, it appeared to be lacking something.
If you have any questions feel free to PM me or give me a call.. I can talk you through the process...
