Hello Lateral-G Nation. Goodguys and Air Ride Technologies will again be presenting the 2009 Street Machine of the Year award in Columbus! I'd like to get a preliminary list of cars that are coming with pics if you've got 'em. Send 'em to me at [email protected]

Below is the award description. Thanks for your time!
Goodguys/Air Ride Technologies Street Machine of the Year: Presented at: 12th Goodguys PPG Nationals, July 10-12, Columbus, OH
Who’s Eligible: Street Machines 1954 through 1972 vintage.
How to Enter the Competition: All award candidates must park in the Pro’s Pick Area Friday and Saturday July 10th & 11th as well as participate in a three-lap Street Challenge Auto Cross Friday afternoon, July 10th (exact times TBD) at the Ohio Expo Center. Autocross lap times will not determine the overall winner but style points do count!
Criteria: This award is designed for a cutting edge Street Machine which combines masterful build quality with extreme performance. Quality of craftsmanship, body & paint, overall engineering, the three F’s (fit, form & functionality) stance and overall creativity in design and concept is what the selection committee will seek.

I'm bringing my home built beater. Its not gonna be able to compete with any really nice cars but should be at the upper side of the average cars.

I would like to know where to stay and be able to park a pickup and trailer from those that are in the know.

I'm glad y'all are comin regardless of what you're drivin. It's one of the country's events for G-Machines. I really don't think there is a karting track in town no. If there was, I would kick all your asses! 300 pounders are the fastest on karts. Always! LOL

That is now a five hour drive...instead of 19 when I was in Florida and last went in 2005.

Contemplating bring the truck (C6-57) and Johns Nova (ZO6 Nova). Optima batteries has agreed to display Johns Nova if I wanted to bring it out to the show. But I'm having a hard time justifying the 4600 miles round trip and at least 70 hours of drive time. All for a piece of plastic for the Truck of the Year Finalist award. The great truck that won Truck of the year did not even get a full cover shot this month in Classic Trucks. We will be shooting 4 features on the truck in the next few weeks and a possible festure in "Hot Rod". Plus I have fabulous booth Spot for SEMA we were offered that I working to finalize, but we have to wait until June.

So I'm obviously weighing the options at this point, 4600 miles (6000 bucks )or crammed in coach for 5 hours (1000 bucks). HHHMMM...
