Seen the site and thought I'd join. Looks like something along the lines of what I'm doing, guys that like American Muscle that will take a corner. ;) :D Here's a picture of my 1974 TA, it's got a long way to go still but the major stuff is done that makes it run. ;) :D The car has been around me since 1983 when my buddy Chris bought it from the second owner. Chris owned it for about a year and then he sold it to a guy that owned it for about a year and then my buddy Kevin bought it. He drove it for about two weeks and we spun a rod bearing in it and there it sat from 1986 until now. It has 97k original miles on it. It was originally ordered without the bird from what I can tell but I had to add it. Everone wanted me to put it on so I gave in to popular consent and I'm glad I did. Everyone expects the bird to be there and likes it. :D At some point before he got it the engine had been swapped from the stock 400 to the '70 RAIII block it currently has. One of the owners had also put a gold bird and decals on the car I assume to be like "Smokey and the Bandit". It was originally a 400 4-spd car with a posi and no accessories. I've had the car to 156mph and it was still pulling so I'm guessing that it can go over 160mph and the calculated top speed is 170mph. I don't think I will be doing that again without 4w disc brakes, lowering the car a bit and putting new suspension bushings on it. Everything is still as is and the bushings are a bit dry. I have new shocks and brakes but the brakes are original. I will list the current spec's below.

E-heads (out of the box)

462cid (400 block 0.060 over)

0.479/0.494 (w/1.5:1)

1.5:1 rockers

stock 800cfm Q-jet

Hooker Super Comp. headers (2" primary, 3.5" collector)

Kumho ECSTA MX 255/45 17's front and 285/40 17's rear "Y" speed rated 186 mph

Stock Super T-10 4-spd

Comp Engineering Subframe connectors

Comp Engineering Traction bars (to be installed soon)

Thanks! :D

I've been setting here trying to get the picture to enlarge of my TA but for some reason I can't. I also post on Performance Years and they use the same web format and this same picture posts there about 15X larger. :( Kind'a strange. Oh well, you guys get the idea of what it looks like. ;) :D

Some nice rides on here!

Enlarge? It appears to be approximately 640x480 which is right in line with the 46kb file size.

Welcome... nice looking car..

Just one question...

how did you make 462 CI with a 400 block and only .060 over... i'm assuming its stroked or a bored 455, right?

Stroked 400 (1970 RAIII, 4-bolt main block). I honestly don't know what the rod length etc. is right off the top of my head I just remeber the machinest said it was 462 or 467 so I error on the low side. All I know is that it runs like I wanted it too and it's 0.060 over and it has Eagle H-beam rods and stroked crank w/SRP pistons. :D  LOL
