You know, I'm going to say that's probably is a good deal. A new complete LS1 motor is 5k...so that leaves you 3k to get a complete intake and coils/wires.

Yeah that does seem cheap!

Sounds like a good deal
It looks to be just what he said. When a dealer has to replace a blown motor in a Corvette, they get a long block from GM and just transfer over all of the accessories, coil packs and yada yada yada. The engine looks to be just a GM dealer long block.
Maybe an email to the seller might give you an idea of how he got it. I see a locker room in the back ground of the picture and I don't think it's Golds Gym lol. Maybe it's something being sold from a local dealer?
I am not 100% familiar with the LS1. Does the LS1 have that long tube coming out of the water pump on the top? The water pump on my LS3 looks different.

Hmm.. it's billed as an LS1 but it has a truck pan. I don't recall 5.7s being put in trucks.
odd..

Good eye Steve.
I was a little curious and did a search for a water pump for a 2002 Silverado truck and also for a 2002 Corvette. The water pump in the craigslist ad looks like the one used on the Silverado.

5.3 I bet. There are a lot of brand new 5.3s around complete, cheap right now.

Yea, and now that I had dinner I have the energy to agree that the water pump is a truck unit.
Would need to see a close up of the displament stamp on the block.. if it's a 5.3 then the seller is either stupid or dishonest since it's pretty damn obvious on inspection.
Like I said, Iron 6Ls went in trucks.. as did alum LS2 versions.. I don't recall LS1 (5.7s) ever going in a truck or SUV but alum 5.3s did.

There is still time to change your answer.....
I was just cruising through craigslist and saw that, and it did seem a like a good price. So, it is safe to say it is probably a 5.3 aluminum block engine from a truck?

well, he thinks it's a 4 bolt main, so he could also be wrong about the displacement.
