Looking for a new engine stand for my newly acquired LQ9. All I can find locally is chinese made junk. Considering going w/ this one from Jegs? Never used a rotating geared stand tho? Any recommendations or Opinions?

We use the chinese ones in our high school shop. They are holding the viper engine and such fine.

Using the cheapest one I could find. Larin, I think. Probably Taiwanese. Nothing wrong with it.

I've used and owned a few of the 1000-1250lb models in the past. They did OK - meaning just that that they didn't fail - but I never liked the way the big block seemed to sag on the stand. I recently purchased the 2000lb model and like it much much better. I haven't had any issues and feel a lot more confident about having the engine hung on there.

Unfortunately I don't think you'll find too many made in the US anymore. Most all of them are imported it seems.

Here is basically what I have but Summit sold mine at the time:

Same one I have but it's harbor freight. Held my fully dressed big block for a long time.

Same place I got my engine stand and hoist. Both are holding up fine and the price was right. They are local so I did not have to pay shipping.

Just make sure it has 4 wheels. The 3 wheelers like to tip...
