You must be talking about F-body LS1 brackets.. I've ran them on the last two cars and the first on had a stock subframe.
The alt clears but the AC wont. BRP makes a kit to notch the frame. Also, I can't remember the company but someone makes a bracket that moves the compressor up high but it still works with the F-body pulley system.

Yeah, What he said! Vintage Air has an adapter bracket to run the 508 compressor you will have to run. You will have to change the sompressor to a 508 compressor, the LS compressor is a variable and will not work with aftermarket A/C. The frame notch is no big deal. Street and Performance makes the high and wide bracket Steve is talking about.

Yes , i agree . Cant beat the factory stuff. I like the looks and price over the over shiny stuff.
I got all my parts for a really good deal from Pro-touring member Jeff Tate. He really knows GM parts

Cool kit, but it places the compressor too far up for me.

Keep the power steering and just run what I do.. I really see zero advantage to NOT having PS.

I also agree. When your in a tight spot and your foot is on the brake. You'll wish you had P/S.
Heres the bracket setup were using on one of our projects right now and places the A/C proportionaly with the alternator. This motor came from Turnkey.

Here is my set up. I used stock 98 camaro brackets and made my own A/C bracket. I had to notch the frame and use a Zexell compressor because of the fitting location on the back. The sanden fittings come out in a v shape and the Zexell fittings come out parallel.

Can you post up some pictures of the bracket you made, if you have then?
Also, can you give me some more information on your compressor?
I cant find a website for them.
thank you

Look at the third pic closely, the bracket is only a 1/4" piece of flat stock with a spacer welded to it.
Oh and type in ZEXEL for a compressor search. Repeat after me " Google is my friend "

We machined these brackets & pulleys for a Saden 7 AC compressor for a LS2tack system.. & dressed up the pulley on OE water pump.. I am ordering a LS1 track system next week for another build here @ the shop & will compare..
