How does wheel buying work when they are ordered? DO companies make you pay in full then wait or do they allow deposits?

I think it is a few factors. One being that bigger companies tend to have back log. I recently received my Fikse's from Frank @ Prodigy and I think it was about seven weeks or so (well worth the wait imo). You might ask yourself well how much back log can Fikse have? When was the last time you saw a car driving down the freeway with Fikses or Forgelines? I never see them. The back log in Fikse's case is race teams. I have been told by Fikse that teams like Ganassi will order 200-300 sets of wheels at a time. Perhaps more in one order than some smaller companies sell all year. I think another factor is $$$ in multiple length halves which is dead weight until it sells. I really think the high end wheel companies only get a small piece of the pie in the Muscle Car market which is filler work between the race team orders.
BTW, I think CCW stills ships in a week. Smaller companies can respond better. As for payment I think most collect up front with some exception like PRRC lay away plan.

We have parts on the shelf at Forgeline and can build wheels in as little as 2 weeks, however I do not like to burn those favors on every set of wheels.. 3 to 4 weeks is a more normal build schedule. No one steps up to the plate like the Forgeline and Prodigy Customs team for getting "Emergency" wheels out. Between Forgeline massive inventory of parts ear marked for Prodigy Customs, and all there own inhouse building abilities including machineing, polishing, powder coating. They are uniqly qualified to get them out quick when required.
I just did another 10 set purchase right agreement with Forgeline and have parts ready to go and killer prices.
I also can get Boze in a few weeks depending on finsh, and Billet Specialties can be pretty quick. Fikse we sell a fair amount of, but they are taking a little longer as tom mentioned, about 6 to 8 weeks.
What do you need?
The Rushforth Line is running 3/4 weeks right now, We would be happy to give you quote on a set.
Thanks Tim

I said clearly in the first post i cant wait like that for wheels simple as that and i asked what people had IN STOCK why even bother telling me you can get a set in 4 weeks its pointless and totaly against what i asked for.

We have Foose Legends in stock like you wouldn't believe. Sets in 17s, 18s, etc. I also have a set of Billet Specialties Bullets IN STOCK in 18x7 and 18x9 in 5x4.75 and 4.25" backspace and 5.25" backspace.
Otherwise, Vintage Wheel works, Billet Specialites, and Rushforth are all VERY short turn around times. Vintage could be a week. The others 2-3.
I read how you can't wait 8 weeks. And I get that, but if you can wait 2 weeks, there are other options. Please don't jump down my throat now too, we're all just trying to help. :_paranoid

for what kinda car again? must have missed it in the post...
Hmmm, Sorry just trying to help you with some options, Didn't see the 4 week time frame. Looks like you were asking for something on the self or less than 8 weeks out, or longer.
Anyway good luck with your search.
Tim
Off the shelf we can do Vintage wheel works, usually about a week out.
or Rocket Racing Wheels. In stock ready to ship.

Your first post is a loaded question. Billet wheels usually are made to order. You never mention a size. That also decides lead time.

I am not trying to bust your balls but you need info man!!!! what tire size you want, rim size, back spacing,is your mini tubbed, axle being shorten etc I mean people do have some wheels in stock but your asking alot if you want a custom wheel to fit your car perfect. You might have better luck if your near a sponsor so you can pick up wheels and not have to wait on shipping tc when they get them or finish them. Just my .02 you need to give people as much info as possible. I wanted a 18x9 and 18x10 and called Jon @ Driverz Inc and he hooked me up with one off wheels, many others know your specs but do need some info so let them know what there working with please. Just my .02 Brandon
Oh both Driverz Inc and Prodigy I would recomm to anyone any day

Sorry man if you want nice stuff you have to wait, its just the way it works. My wheels have custom colors and are built to spec, took two weeks. In the past Ive waited 12 weeks. We're talking about something that can make or break your car. Trust me its worth the wait.

re read my last post didnt mean to come across as a a jerk
i am looking for 17 or 18 inch wheel combo that will fit a non mini tubed 69 camaro wiuth 97 vete front and 97 up camaro rear disc brakes.
just saying that my problem is im building a car in one month and have a very tight schedule.
yes you heard me one month for a customer for a complete frame off clean build basicly 5 weeks total time from car coming to me to car being delivered.
the car was completely put on a rotiserie and striped to bare metal then body worked and had the stock sub frame powder coated along with the rear end powder coated
upper and lower tubular controll arms front and rear late model vete brakes along with 3 inch rear detroit speed drop springs and 2 inch spindles plus 1.5 inch springs in the front.
a new 383 stroker engine aprox 500 horsepower with a new gas tank and new drive shaft and new turbo 350 trany plus new limited slip in the rear end and dropign back to 3.27 gears from the 4.10s it had.
full new reproduction interior and new glass plus new seals througout plus new stock style ss seat covers and carpet etc
basicly a realy straight realy clean saterday night cruise car not so much a pro touring or a full on resto as a resto mod with a good power level for a driver and tastefull mods.
the car is ford e9 lazer red with flat black ss stripes.
original ss 1969 camaro and we painted the under side and top side done very tastefully ill put up a few pics in the builds section.
the customer droped the car off said built it in a month to as much as you can in that time with whatever the cost is .. luckily it was the most rust free 69 i have ever seen needing absolulty ZERO sheet metal all the orignal sheet metal was rust free completly and the only rust anywhere was in one door jamb where the side of the car was exposed from the car cover it was under for the last 10 years.
So you can see with the tight schedule why i cant go to crazy on wheels tire sorry if i came off rude just trying to finish the car off.
prodigy are your 5s in just cleart coat polish anodized or ?
