I have a question I have recently moved to Phoenix, AZ. and realized they expect my car ( a 1968 camaro) to pass a emissions test. Well it is not stock, and there is no way it will pass one, now I have seen other classic cars here above 1967 ( there emission cut-off year) which dont look, sound, smell stock and have arizona licenses and registration and I dont know how they do it. there has to be some kind of loop hole im not seeing. I know this question isnt in this subject but I wasnt really sure where to put it so if anyone from phoenix knows what im talking about and knows a secret or two please help me out because otherwise I dont know what to do. thanks

Properly tuned there is no reasson you shouldn't pass an emissions test, that is why we (hot rodders) get a bad name is guys let their cars run like junk/load up at stops/run rich and won't pass smog (or gas stations without stopping). Find someone local who knows how to tune a car, I mean really tune it, not just make it run.

what kinda of testing do they do for your car... its old enough that i would guess its nothing more than a tailpipe test..... and im sure the requirments are different than a new car. i would say go to a local shop that does repair work, and find out from them what your car will need for passing.
