You may have seen this before, but if not, it shows how much ingenuity and creativity there was in the early 20th century when it comes to transportation, which was mostly centered in Detroit and the surrounding area...Keep in mind, this was 1926. There is no sound...it is a promotional video for a new type of snow vehicle....it is somewhat long, but try and watch the entire thing, when it is adapted to an early Chevrolet it is priceless...

I think it is really an amazing piece of engineering and machinery, and a pretty cool idea to boot...

and I quote:

"In January 1926, Time magazine reported: “Having used the motor car for almost every other conceivable purpose, leading Detroit automobile makers have now organized a company entitled "Snow Motors Inc.," to put out a machine which will negotiate the deepest snowdrifts at six to eight miles an hour. The new car will consist of a Ford tractor power-plant mounted on two revolving cylinders instead of wheels—something on the order of a steam roller."

Charley needs to find and restore this thing....;)

Enjoy:lateral:

Hey, now there's an incentive to wear your seatbelt! Imagine getting sucked into the rollers... instant cheese grater. :faint:

That's really cool. It just uses constant leverage to pull itself across the top fo the snow. Awesome but very dangerous design! It could be made safe easily though
