Hi Guys , im an australian enthusiast who has lurked the pages here for a while now. I thought it was time to be responsible and register.
I have owned 4 camaros now in Oz and several other US cars ie; blazer, impala, 92 vette. This is my current 'project' A 69 RS clone running a 10.5 -1 comp alloy headed balanced/blueprinted 4 bolt small block , 'solid' camshaft' barry grant carb on a strip dominator running thru 2 1/2 inch pipes with x pipe and magna flows, etc ,tricked 350 box -2500 stall , hotchkis suspension . All converted to Right hand drive in 08'.
Regards,
Wade

Thanx guys for the warm welcome !
My car is a long way from what you guys build here. Its just the availability and choices of performance parts you have. Yeah we can get them sent across the water but we basically triple the catalogue price. And the way the dollar is , it makes it that much tougher. So you gotta be dedicated.
(customcam, do i sense an aussie feel to your welcome !)
As for right hand drive , i do have pics of the conversion , pretty straight foward , hardest part on a 69 is the dash as its not a mirror like say a 67 or 68 dash. Everything else is swapped across, wires lengthened, mirrors , belts changed , lenses orange for blinkers, (no red flash in tail lights) etc etc.. ill post some pics for anyone who is curious.
I will travel to US in april for my first trip (parts shopping) so advice will be needed on the best bits for my hard earned aussie dollar.
Thanx again:)
Wade

WOW!, First time I ever saw one like this. Is the steering box on the right side as well? Keep up the good work .

yes, the steering box ( chev rhd ) is notched into the subframe on the right rail . Cut the peice from fire wall on left and weld in to right side for the colum.
Brake booster is from an aussie GM 'commodore' (they make your pontiac 'gto' , its really our aussie holden commodore)
Then wiring, handbrake swap, pedals etc.
We can register LHD here if over 30 years old 'as is' or if you change it over it must comply with that states design rules, ie; seatbelts , lights , blinkers,

This has been a long time overdue ! well from humble beginnings to "this is now"
my aussie RHD 69 has had a major rebuild , adding new panels, quarters glass , and black paint with grey hockey stripe, etc.
fitted injection recently using a 'fast ezi efi' computor and harness

Farrrrk, nice work!
Funny how earlier on you mentioned you 69 'was nothing like what graces these pages'...well would ya look at that lol. Bug bit hard, looks like you have enjoyed the currency change!
Great to see you havent fallen for 22's and 'interesting' graphics all over the car that I see in most Aussie mags over here in NZ.
Nice conversion too, our rule is 20 years but I must admit it would be nice to be sitting on the right hand side here on our 2 lane 'roads'!

Heya Ryan ,thanx ! , i went with the ridetech unit,.. i thought i wouldnt get it low enuf ,, but i can drop it another half inch ,, i did buy shorter coils but it sat way too low so went back to the ones supplied,, It rides great and dosn't bottom out at this height..Still having a few brake issues though.
Very happy with the result..

you have a beutiful car. Great job on the build. I only hope mine will be that nice someday. I just got a complete level 2 Ride tech suspension set up for mine and just registered here yesterday. I will start a build thread soon to post pics of my progress.
