I recently installed a new full floor in my 68 Camaro and I have a question about the DSE sub frame connectors. Since you have to cut the seat pan brackets for the installation of the SFC's, should I just wait until I install the connectors and then install the seat pan brackets?

I was thinking I should probably install the brackets first to help stiffen the subframe mount area for when I bolt the sub frame up and align it to the rear frame rails.

Any suggestions?

Install the seat pan after. That way you can back prime and won't have that piece to weld back in.

I would do it afterwards as well. Stiffening the floor shouldn't be a problem since the car needs to be on it's wheels (or simulated). Unless of course there's no drivetrain in the car (ie, it's light).

Here's a story I did a while back on the install:

I was planning on getting the car off the body cart and putting it on jackstands, then installing the subframe and aligning the front sheet metal. Once I get the subframe aligned to the rear frame rails, I planned on installing the sfc's and then welding the brackets.
