Hello Everyone,
Hope you are all well. I need to connect with Frank Lopez - lateral-g.net name 4MuscleMachines - right away. It is urgent. If anyone lives close to Frank or has contact information for Frank can you please ask Frank to call me on my cell phone? My cell phone number is in a PM I sent Frank today, Feb. 13, as well as several emails I have sent Frank over the past 2 weeks. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

Hello all,
Happy presidents day. I am still looking to get in touch with 4MuscleMachines (Frank). If ANYONE has an opportunity to talk with Frank directly or indirectly can you please ask him to call Chris right away. It is very, very important and it is time sensitive. This will also save me from having to fly out to TX.

Trey,
Hope you are well. In fairness to Frank (4MuscleMachines) - for now - I think it would be best to not provide many details just in case my facts are wrong. I would hate to throw someone under the bus based on inaccurate information. Having said that, I can tell you Frank has not responded to 7 emails, 12 voice mails, 4 PM's and this thread all simply asking him to return a phone call. I also know 2 other parties are chasing as aggressively because of the same issue.
Plus, I think the moderators have been pretty understanding and I would not want them to lock this thread if it becomes too personal as I am hoping this thread (and the several other ways I am trying to reach Frank) will cause him to surface.
I hope all of this is cleared up soon. If not, and moderators willing, I will post the sorted details of this mess so as to prevent anyone else from finding themselves in the situation I am in.
Take care,
Chris

John,
Good to hear from you. And yea, I too hope this works out. As for what I am working on these days........I am just working. No time for anything else. In this economy I am not complaining but I am tired of the 60+ hour weeks.
Take care,

Lat-G colleagues,
Hope everyone is well. After weeks of monitoring this thread in hopes of reaching Frank (4MuslceMachines) he has not surfaced. I have also left 10's of voice mails and sent even more PM's and emails. All with no reply from Frank. So, I wanted to share with you the situation that is behind all of this, not to slam Frank (he has done that already to himself I have learned), but to hopefully keep any other Lat-G members from being taken by Frank.
As many of you may recall I was selling my 64 Chevelle back in Sept. Frank contacted me and offered to trade me his low mileage Z06 Vette, plus extras, plus shipping for the Chevelle. Since I was unable to show the Chevelle as much as I wanted (awesome car) I decided to accept Franks proposal. As I normally do, I worked with a leasing company to handle the paperwork on the deal. After Frank and I had finalized the terms of the deal and were about to trade cars, another Lat-G member jumped into the mix and this became a 3-way deal. Long story short, I would receive Frank's Z06 plus extras, the 3rd Lat-G member would receive the Chevelle and Frank would receive a large sum of cash from the 3rd Lat-G member. All seemed fine until the leasing company informed me and the 3rd Lat-G member that FRANK STILL OWED ON THE Z06!. That is the rub here. Frank told everyone, including the leasing company, he owned the Z06 outright but in fact the car was not paid for. Since learning this little pearl of information the leasing company, the 3rd Lat-G member and I have been chasing Frank and he does not want to be found. The matter is now in the hands of legal authorities who are traveling to TX. to see Frank. Before you say it; yes, the leasing company has some culpability here and to their credit they are accepting their share and are heading up the legal efforts.
Take care,
Chris

James,
I have the Z06 but cannot register nor drive it because I do not have the title. I have had the car for nearly 5 months. The 3rd Lat-G member has the Chevelle but has the same registration problems I do because the title transfer for the Chevelle is tangled up with the lien on the Z06. So in summary, Frank has the cash and me and the 3rd lat-G member have cars we cannot drive, sell or do much with. pretty bad deal. But, The leasing company is (finally) moving pretty aggressivly on Frank so hopefully we will see some progress soon. Plus, there are always the karma police...........

Sorry to hear all this. How much money is owing on the Z06?

Chris,
Sorry to hear about the raw deal. I hope you and the 3rd Lat G member both get a fair hand shake out of this.
Out of curiosity and I guess self education, how does the leasing company come into play on these deals. Are they sort of like a Title company or Escrow company (real estate terms sorry). Does the leasing company have any liability in this issue? Were they suppose to make sure the title on the Z06 was free and clear?
Either way, it would suck to have a Z06 sitting in the garage for 5 months and not be able to drive it. That would just kill me

Don,
I am not sure exactly how uch is owed on the Z06 but I believe it is a lot. Certainly more than a few thousand. My guess is he owes in excess of 40K if not more. On top of that, Frank will have to pay for all of the legal fees, travel, etc. associated with finding him and lifting the lien. That will not be cheap.
Rick,
As for the leasing company....since (I used to) buy \ sell cars often working with a friend at a leasing company - who has since left - added a layer of security when aquiring a car from across the country, often sight unseen. We would have a binding sales contract in place before the title was set to the leasing company, then the money was transferred then the car was shipped. In this case, which was the first case since my buddy left the leasing company, the process was not followed otherwise we would have canceled the deal. So, the leasing company does have and has accepted much of the responsibility for this mess and are paying for it by hiring attorny's, traveling to TX., etc.
Chris
NOT true, I have been in Monterrey for the last 2.5 weeks and in South TX for the last 5 days. I purchased the car from a Texas Senators son and paid for it at his bank. There is no lien on the car. Chris has spread many falsehoods but the reality is he was the one not available for SWCHOPPER, Jason.
It is late right now, I'm tired, I'm very sick, so I will post what I just finished responding to Chris and Jason (mostly in response to Chris). Moderators, this is not right. I had no chance to defend myself. This issue was cause by Chris and his piece of crap leasing company. NOBODY EVER CONTACTED ME UNTIL THE LAST TWO WEEKS OR SO. My personal cell phone was left at home accidentally and my work phone as with me. I never got any calls on my work phone. My son visited the forums I visit just as he has always done with me in the past. NEVER DID I AVOID ANY CALLS.
HERE ARE MY 3 RESPONSES:
*********************************
Chris and Jason, I have been in Monterrey selling some assets (commercial space) for over two weeks. I returned five days ago but I have been on a small vacation. I am not hiding from you guys. I assure you there is no lien on the car. IMPOSSIBLE. PERIOD. I can prove it. NOBODY has ever contacted me from Dalco until last week when I was out.
I have the title to the car. It is under the first owners name, but is free and clear. The title transfer company went out of business and never transfered the title in my name. I was in San Antonio the last few days verifying this. This is the first time I read your PMs. I still only heard a few of your voice mails but not all of them due to me being very busy. MY PERSONAL RECORD IS IMPECCABLE.
I purchased the car from the son of a former Texas State Senator so I am sure there is no lien. I also spoke to the bank before paying cash for the car to ensure there was no lien. THERE IS NO LIEN. I have been very busy with selling some assets in Monterrey.
My email is
[email protected], my address you listed is correct, my work cell is 956-xxx-xxxx, my personal cell (which I did not have with me) is 956-xxx-xxxx. I now have my personal cell, it was left at home. I will be available any time after 3pm CST. I can prove to you guys there is NO LIEN. Don't worry, I don't BS, Vince knows me as well (I don't know what you mean by dealings with him, I only traded a car with him IN PERSON). We met halfway in New Mexico.
Frank

I just called you but no answer. I left a detailed message. I am not hiding so please do not threaten. Jason, there is no lien on the car. Chris, I am sure you are saying this because you are thinking I was avoiding you. I was not. DAMN, nobody ever called the guy who was doing it for me. I am sure of this. Dalco never even called me until last week. I never heard of the bank you mention. Chris, you never followed up on this and look what it snowballed into.
Guys, I have proof of no lien. I will supply it to you tomorrow evening. I'm tired, it's late, I am very sick with bronchitis, so I am not getting up early for something which I know is false. There is no lien.

Damn Chris, stop the nonsense about there being a lien on the car, there is none. Jason, I promise this is false. It will be evident when I provide the proof to you.
Chris, I always was in contact with Jason so please do not provide false info. The only time I did not answer any calls or PM's was just recently and only because I live on the border and do business in Mexico. THAT'S WHY I LIVE HERE!
Chris, you were the one that disappeared and Jason couldn't locate you. Chris, I know you have my address, HECK, I GAVE IT TO YOU!
Jason, Chris never even asked how the Z06 was optioned or for pics. Only when the deal was done and only when I asked him he should know more about the car did he express any interest. Chris you seeked me out, I did not go looking for you. I am not a scammer and I don't believe you are one as well, but don't be spreading falsehoods.
*************************************
Moderators, this thread should be deleted after I provide you with the correct info. I can provide all the proof you need. Just let me know what you need. I AM SO PISSED right now. Look at all the other boards around the net. I have the same username and my record is impeccable. I don't hide or scam anybody.
Lat-G colleagues,
I have also left 10's of voice mails and sent even more PM's and emails. All with no reply from Frank.
I just counted the voice mails, there are six. Chris, you need to be accurate, and how can you say you have facts and then say something different.
FRACK, I leave on business and you guys run around like chickens without heads and then blame it on me. Remember Chris, as does Jason, you were the one not found. Only until three weeks ago, did the ball start rolling again for you guys. I have been around here all the time.
Sorry for the rant, but my blood pressure is HIGH right now.

There is no lien, you will learn of that tomorrow. Please explain to the forum how long it took for your company do even move on it. Jason had been trying to get you to do something since August? Now in FEB 2009, I am absent for a couple of weeks and it's suddenly my fault. I will be on here to respond in the afternoon. I have had enough.
I have now read many posts from members I have not met but have posted and interacted with but yet judge me quickly based on incorrect assumptions.
That's not right guys.

As I always say in every story there is one side's truth, the other side's truth and the real truth.
The real truth is never established in forums like these.
Sounds like a problem needs to be sorted and you guys are now in contact again which is great. I hope it all works out as expected for all concerned.

Sorry for the rant, but my blood pressure is HIGH right now.
Understandable, but I think both sides need to calm down.
When money and property are involved it's very easy to "assume the worst".. I feel Chris really tried to start this thread out in a "non-attack" way, just asking for help contacting you.
And if his escrow company told him there was a lien then I can understand him freaking out a bit.
So, chalk it up to a mis-communication business screw up. It happens and I'm glad you got a chance to respond.
I will go back and prune out some of the "bandwagon" responses, but it's in your intrest that the thread be left open so that people who read it previously can see your response and will know the proverbial "rest of the story".
However, I encourage BOTH parties (three?) to take a very business-like and professional tone with this. Just put the confusion in the past and rectify the situation so that everyone is happy and can move forward.

I have sold a car and other items to Frank (4musclemachines) in the past. Great transaction, no problems. It appears that all the trouble started with a mistake made by the title company. I don't blame Chris for this, as you would expect a professional company that does this for a living to get it right; I would have probably believed them too. Couple that with not being able to get in touch with Frank for a while as he was out of town, and you end up where we are.
It appears that this will be sorted out, which is a good thing. Probably a good lesson in here for all of us.

Frank,
This issue has never been about me and you. This issue has always been about you and the title to the Z06. I am only able to operate on the information I have. And, the ONLY source of information I have had for nearly a month was the leasing company. YOU DID NOT RESPOND TO ANY ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT YOU AND WHILE YOU WERE IN MEXICO YOU WERE STILL ACTIVE ON PRO-TOURING.COM SO YOU WERE STILL ABLE TO COMMUNICATE. GET IT RIGHT FRANK AND LET'S MOVE ON.
I did not answer my phone last night - the first time you called me in over a month - because you called me after midnight. Come on Frank, what did you expect besides my voice mail.
OK, moving forward from here the ONLY thing that matters is that you produce a clean title, in your name since YOU traded the car, to the leasing company. I do not want the title, it goes to the leasing company. As soon as the leasing company receives the clean title they will be able to stop their legal proceedings and wrap up this deal. You have the contact info for the leasing company as Steve from the leasing company has called you more than once. Call Steve Frank, send him a clean title and we can all move on. And please Frank, contact the leasing company and send them them the clean title asap.

Lat-G Moderators,
Frank has requested you delete this thread. While I recognize the decision is yours I would request that you keep this thread active and open for two reasons:
1) Frank has not yet produced the title. He seems intent on doing that but it has been 5 months. Once the title is produced, then I would have little to no care factor about this thread.
2) Perhaps it is just coincidental but Frank did not surface until yesterday when I posted the full story. Seems to be a connection there to me.
I will do my best to not introduce any flaming comments and just keep this thread fair. Ultimately this is your call but to the extent this thread can aide in helping Frank get this title to the leasing company two other Lat-G members (me and the other guy) will be very appreciative.
Thanks,
Chris
Chris, you are still avoiding the obvious. It was in August that the transaction was finalized. You only started contacting me a month ago, Jason had trouble contacting you. Initially, the transaction did not involve Jason (SWchopper) at all. It was only until our deal was done that Jason wanted to purchase the Chevelle at approx. $72k.
At that point you told me to deal with Jason directly and the trade money was all mine. What did I do at that point? I offered you to just pay me fair market value for my Z. I took approximately only $62-64k for my car (plus $3500 in extra accessories given to you) and you took the rest. I did not have to do this, you even stated that, but I did. Why? Because I am not a scammer and I wanted all parties involved to get a fair deal. I even made donations in your name so that you could become a "supporting member", all on my dime and without anybody telling me anything or asking for any "thank you".
The point is Chris, I understand your frustration, but let's get real. You had months to follow up on this with your title company, I have only had no more than 5-6 weeks. My son has been on PT.com and not me. He uses my username, as I have previously said.
I am meeting with my attorney this evening. Not for the purpose of "hiding" but for the purpose of him expediting this situation. In the meantime, all lines of communication are still open for you Chris. I gave have given you every one of my contact numbers. My attorney will simply be reviewing all the material and expediting information and title exchange. I will call you with his info later today. I sent a PM to you since I need to forward Dalcos contact info and person to contact, to my attorney to get the ball rolling.

Frank,
The 3rd party Lat-G member and I have never lost contact for more than 4 days (business) and I have never lost contact with Dalco. Simply the facts Frank.
While I appreciate your interest in providing the story from your vantage point, none of what you are saying matters so I will not bother to correct you. All that matters is that you traded \ sold a car more than 5 months ago and you knew since then that you had an obligation to provide the title for the car your were trading to the leasing company and you have failed to do so. Pretty simple. Had you simply provided the title none of this would have become a problem. But, you didn't and to make matters worse, you disappeared for the past 5-6 weeks (your words).
The bottom line Frank is wether say your plan is to work with your attorneys and say you are going to contact the leasing company and say you will provide them with a clean title these are all words. Just do it Frank. Stop PM'ing me and posting "your side of the story". Just fulfill your original obligation from 5 months ago. And, as a reminder, your business is not with me it is with Steve at the leasing company. Call him you have his number and simply get him the clean title. All else is a waste of good cursor space.
Chris

Since September for a car deal to be finalized, a signed title, is VERY long IMO. Hopefully you guys can get this finalized professionally and move on. I think from here on its on you guy's time and not the boards. Now that you are back in contact, Get R Dun. Good luck.
