Book for rebuilding SBC?

In preparation for starting my project (I need to go to the intro section and introduce myself) I need to pick up a quality book on rebuilding a Small Block Chevy engine. I need something that will be very thorough and explains things simply enough that I could actually understand it. This will be the first time I really tear into the car other than minor things like changing the starter when it went out.

David Vizard is the Man. I work with him two-three days a week in the engine shop here at school and he knows more about engines than probably any on else in the world. Or at least that is my personal opinion.

I actually like this one better. It's more up to date, and has more "blueprinting" information in it.

Vizards book has more info about what to look for during the tear down, and that would help if you wanted to reuse old engine parts. But if you're starting from scratch, you don't need that info. This one has alot more pictures too, ;) .

Vizards book has no info on a one piece rear main block either, where this one does.

I think both books would be a good investment. :thumbsup:

Ditto everything Mark just said... David V's writing style and practical approach make it easy to get a lot out of the subjects he writes about. I have most of his HP Books.
