Does anyone know is Boyd's wife keeping the shop going? or did she close it? I haven't heard anything about the shop. I heard Dwayne left there?

Closed up long ago.

I couldn't see how they could have kept it open. The shop WAS Boyd and any car built there after his death would never be considered a "Boyd" car.

Shop closed long ago. Dan took over the paint shop area and is finishing a few boyd projects. dwayne is not at west coast anymore but not sure where he is now. wheel company is gone also. think jr. is trying to do something with the wheel line but american racing also still holds some rights to the wheels.

Sad story overall. I kind of felt Boyd was somekind of hero in cadzilla times. Still cant understand it went down so fast. I cant believe all the drama seen on television show. There must be some real talented guys working there. As far i have understood Boyd was just handling the PR??

From what I heard Dwayne is starting his own shop now and is having an open house real soon. He left West Coast Customs a while back.

As much as Boyd had to do with Cadzilla, it was Larry Erikson's design work and Craig Naff's fabrication work that made that car the quantum leap that it was in 1986 (or whatever year that was).

It happens in most lines of work. You hit a pleteau in your skills and if you are smart you surround yourself with talented pepole technically superior to you to carry you. If you have vision that is what you bring to the table. Its how middle management is created.

Now as for Boyd. I prefer not to speak poorly about the departed so I wont. God rest his soul. I wish all the talent at his shop the best. As for Duane I hope he looses his shirt on any endeavor.
