I am selling my 69 Camaro. I bought this car 6 years ago from a used car lot in Lima, OH. I spent the next 3.5 years putting disc brakes on it; replacing the wrotten body mounts; rebuilding the entire suspension; and a long list of other small items. About 2.5 years ago I was rear ended in the car and it has been in the shop since. The insurance company screwed me over, but a friend agreed to do all the bodywork at the repair shop he works at. The car is now is primer, and I am ready to sell it.
Price is $15,000 OBO.
Highlights of what’s included:
Complete rolling chassis
All sheetmetal (all purchased from NPD)
-new rear frame rails
-new firewall
-new full trunk and all supports
-new trunk lid
-new rear valance
-new partial rear quarter
-one new front fender (other repaired)
-one new floor panel, other repaired
-trans tunnel repaired
-new front valance
-new cowl induction hood
-new radiator support
-new door skin, other repaired
-new rear window to trunk closeout panel
-probably some pieces I am forgetting
Glass
M21 Trans
12 bolt rear
JL8 type disc brakes
Custom made rear leafs with 275 lb/in rate
Global West bushing and shackle kit
New, cut Moog coils with approx 650 lb/in rate
Koni adjustable shocks
Brand new front swaybar (from NPD, I believe 1 1/8”)
Aluminum body mounts
All new Moog ball joints and bushings in the front
DSE tie rod links
Fast ratio power steering box
Guldstrand mod (mounts cut off and moved so you can’t tell just from looking)
All new stainless hard lines
New power master cylinder
Braided SS flex lines
Stock front and rear seats
Highlights of what it needs:
Almost every piece of sheetmetal has been replaced over the last two years. My buddy said the car will need some more blocking on the doors and roof, but otherwise it’s ready for final primer and paint. He painted the door jambs black so any buyers could see any imperfections. The trunk has been splatter painted. The car will need new carpet and headliner. I have the door panels, but they aren’t show quality. The car has RS headlights, but has been missing the actuators since I bought it. The gas tank was totaled in the accident, as was the rear bumper. I have some of the rear and front lights, but a couple will need to be replaced. The car will most likely need a new engine wiring harness. I have the old one, but it has seen 40 years of “mods”.
As for an engine:
I bought the car with a 427 in it. In one of the rare moments the car was running, I dropped a valve and broke a few pistons. I replaced this engine with a junkyard 454 (needed something within a few days) that smoked a lot. I still have both engines, and the buyer is free to choose from them. Both will need a rebuild. I can get you any numbers you want from the engine. I will include all the accessories I have, so you will have everything needed from carb to pan.
Wheels:
The car is currently sitting on the rally wheels it came with. I have a full set of TTII wheels (17x8 and 17x9.5) as well. The rears are in very good shape with good rubber on them. I used the fronts for some road course work on another car, so they have some brake dust residue that will require some serious polishing. They have matching rubber to the rears, but it shows the signs of road course work.
This car is a project, but a solid one. When I did have the car on the road course, it behaved well. If you have any questions, or want to see more pictures, please let me know. The car is at the bodyshop in Ashtabula, OH (in the NE corner of OH). I live in the Detroit area. If someone would like to see the car, we can work that out. I will be willing to bring it back to Detroit in an enclosed trailer as well. I’m sure I am forgetting some details, so ask about anything.
Post any questions here or PM me. If you would like to call me, PM me for my number.
Thanks
Ken
