Not a fan of the hood but the rest of the car makes up for it! Very nice!

its not the hood i wanted to put on it.iwanted a 2 inch cowl but 540 with a procharger i would of had to cut too much of the hood structure to make it work.

Nice looking car.
It take it there's a 540 under the hood. And those look like 20's stuffed in the rear wheel wells??
Keep us posted.
We need more pics, please.
Is this the first time that you've posted pics of your car? I don't recall seeing it before and you've been a member for quite a while.

Man that looks good. I'm jealous. I believe we have the same type of scheme going, it's good to see yours before I get there. Post a few more close up pics of your gas cap and and wheels. What are the finishes on your wheels and how do you like that combo in person. In the pictures, it looks like an excellent combo. Again, nice work.

I love that gas cap. Looks nostalgic. Where did you get it and how hard was it to get it to hook up? Does it make it any harder than the stock one to use?

i think the finish is gunmetal on the wheels, and i love the combo i bounced between black and gunmetal.i bought the gascap from unique performance before they closed, its actually for the eleanor cars. The firebird in the background is mine also i just put it on ebay today.real nice car mini tubbed 4 link 455.i need to sell it because i have 3 69 Z28 to build, i also need to build a new shop this year.

GAWD!.........Why couldnt I have been born rich? :hail:

very very very far from rich.i work a regular job during the week and work on cars at night and weekends.my wife is not particulary happy about that but building cars and selling them helps me build my car and helps pay my regular bills.i have built and sold 4 copo clones and a Z car this year.i would love to build cars full time but that doesnt seem possible right now.i was building the firebird for myself as a everyday car(drive to work, grocery, just have fun car).I have to sell to try to get to the point to build me a big garage.i have a 30X64 now and i have 7 cars now with no room.its no fun to be cutting quarters out 25 feet from the firebird or camaro.

Way cool brother---would love to see it with a 4 inch cowl for selfish reasons--it looks like you do amazing work judging by both cars. Please post more pics of this one please.

Glad to see your car coming along so well. That damn car has been on my mind non-stop since I was up last Saturday to see it. The other members almost need a video or something with sound to really appreciate/get the feel of how mighty this thing is.

well bad news,i got my car out this weekend to clean it up and never had it out in good sunlight.i found places in the roof where it looks like where they were spotted in.it looks horrible, about the size of a softball in two spots, and there is abunch of spots mthat look like water spots under the clear.this was the second time i took the car back to get stuff fixed.i really dont know what to do.the guy that painted it thinks he did a real good job.i havnt been happy with the paint since day one but he kept saying it will buff out.not to mention he is a good friend and i dont want him pissed, but icant leave the paint like it is.he should know the paint didnt turn out like i wanted, because it was supposed to be "showroom paint".if i show him the spots he will want to spot them in again instead of fixing them right. iwanted the car to de done by summer and if i let him try to fix it and cant i will have to try to get someone else to do it and there would be no way to get it done by summer.

Sounds like only a few days repair, Fix the dents and re-clear the roof and 1/4 panels. I'd ask him, what do you have to loose.

Sounds like your only choice is to have someone else do it.
He may be pissed because you had someone else do a "better" job, but it is your car.
GOOD LUCK!!!

no they are not dents it is where he spotted it in its under the clear, and the paint as a whole didnt turn out like i wished.

I agree with Vegas69 , but if you want have him fix it as best he can and drive it . I wouldn't loose a whole summer of driving.

the car has no interior in it yet and as much as i would like to drive it i can strip it down and ready to go to paint in a day or two.i talked to the guy that will repaint it and he said to get the hood doors trunklid etc. off and to him so he can start on them in downtime from other cars at his shop.he is another friend and it wont be in jail very long at all.he quoted me a price today so now its just coming up with the money.i know it would be the cheapest to let the first guy fix it,but you know how first impressions are.a lot of people in my town know this car and if i go out with it like this i willnever hear the end of it.i spent so much money everywhere else i hate for the first thing you look at too not be right.

...So who painted the car in the first place?
Just kidding, I wouldn't worry about making the original painter mad. It is more about making the car right, he knows he cut corners.
