I voted a LS2.

An LS7 would be nice, but at nearly $14k for one, I can do alot better for less $$$.

A LS2 with good rods and pistons and a little boost will nail down nearly 770rwhp with excellent manners on the street for a couple grand less than the LS7. I have done it plenty of times. The Turbo motors get the wow factor when the hood open too.

LS1. When I bought the motor in 2000 it was state of the art and cheap to boot. I've done a little moddin to it cam, intake, headers, I wish I could afford to procharge it.

That would be killer. Those LS engines love boost!

None of the above. LQ4 with a set of ported LS6 243 that are better than stock L92s. Milled to bring to compression up. Should do well for the $2000 I have invested in it so far. Another $1,500 to go to get it on the road!
