I had the privilege to witness a union between two AWESOME people: Shannon and Rodger. They were married yesterday (12-20-08).

Well thanks guys, I figured after traveling to 14 states on 16 months and going to about 20 drag racing weekends all over the west coast and going to cars shows on a bunch of other weekends and attending a few track days at Buttonwillow with me and never once complaining but actually asking to go again I better lock this one down. Then to top it off she wanted to get her own car and race RC cars in the off season with me. She is great girl and we have alot of fun togther. Plus she is HOTT.

You did good to lock that one down. She sounds like one in a million. And Yes HOTT! It still takes effort to keep the good stuff happening. Communication is at least 50% listening and asking questions. Assume nothing!!

Thanks again guys, There is nothing like finding a girl who shares an interest in your passion. I dated a girl like 8 years ago that was mad that I spent more money on try to open my shop then I did on her. No I have a girl who put up some money for the upholstry on my truck and buys her own RC parts. I know you guys are jealous. Congrats to the both of you!! You're right about locking down ones like this Rodger. I just had this talk the other day with a friend. IMO, to find a woman to except what we do with this infatuation we all have with cars is rare. There are some that may deal with it - but to find ones that except it - much less take part in, is rare. Then to top it off a hottie!! You done good my friend!!

Congratulations.

I think I saw this one comming. When you and Shannon stopped by for dinner, on one of your adventures accross the country, you seemed pretty smitten then...I think that was the trip that involved multiple airline flights, the Ford truck division, spraying diesel fuel and more patience than I would have had. She passed the test then and there.

So when you told me you were getting hitched, I understand. A good woman is hard to find, and if she likes cars and dosen't complain that all you ever do is work or think about cars, she's a keeper.


the previous gun tote-ing was cool but the 'I'm going to go read my book in the truck, while you watch the drag races' was an issue

They are really a cool couple to be with. If you ever get the chance to 'hang out' with them: DO IT!
