I did a search but couldn't get the actual info that I was looking for.

I have a pre 85 SBC crate motor, its a 290hp one (about 5000k on it) and I am using a 87-92 TPI setup.

What are some good/decent heads to use that are going to give me good performance and HP increase but nothing crazy.

I am going to get a complete Comp Cam set up (cam, rockers etc).

The TPI was built by Arizona Speed and Marine

Educate a newb a little if you could.

Thanks

Lingenfelter use to praise the Edelbrock Perfromer RPM heads for those because of the 170cc intake runners they had. They were a little smaller than the older 180cc AFR but he seemed to say they made the best power because of the rpm limits of the TPI setup. He knew more than most about those things and I am sure you wouldn't go wrong by his advise!

Thanks !

I was looking at going with a set of the Patriot 2181 heads, the have dual valve cover mounts but one person told me they would line up with the TPI intake and another person didn't think they would with out modifiing them.

I believe there are only two types of intake manifold bolt pattens. Vortec, and non vortec.

I belive vortec started in '95.

Valve cover bolt holes vary, but if you're getting aftermarket heads, it irrelavant.
