i found a snap on socket in my engine

no joke at all
my engine ran great no ticks knocks leaks ect.pulled it out for the resto.
i pulled the intake off and found a full size snap on socket rolling around the valley/lol i almost fell over.the ratchet was apart at this point.everything was there except for the 2 screws/:rolleyes:

the ratchet had initials on it/it was an older jasper engine from years ago.
the best part about the deal was the snap on guy rebuilt the socket and its like new for free/lol

anyone ever heard of this crap

I found a plastic applicator tip from a tube of RTV when I pulled the intake off my engine last fall.

i have done all my own enginework in the past untill a diesel (2.4 toyota i rebuilt) blew up on me and i started wondering of i shouldnt have a pro do the 427 for my impala.... so i did and when i pulled the distributor to prime the engine prior to startup (i had installed EVERYTHING at this point) the distributor drive rod was not installed.... the oilpump was there... but the drive was absent....

im back to doing my own enginework again!

found a T-handle allen and a rag in the valley of an ARCA motor, had a guy stuff a rag in the intake on the dyno to keep things from going in the engine while at lunch, well after lunch they he forgot and put the carb on, the rag was sucked in and cracked the block as the piston tryed to compress the rag.

Ok i used to work for a huge engine remanufacturer. We had an area of the asssembly line that would install timing covers and oil pans. On small block chevys, we used intermediate shafts (oil pump drive) with a pinned steel sleeve so all you had to do was drop it in the hole and then bolt the pump on. There is enough room to engage the shaft after everything is on and the engine is right side up. We would pull engines off the line randomly and put them on our dyno..this was my dept. SO we put this engine on the dyno and couldnt get the distributor seated for anything. So we pulled the engine off and pulled the pan to see what the deal is and presto!!!!!!!!

I found a dime in the engine that blew up in my car. Kind of odd.

I also found a wrench welded to the hot section on one of the engines of an airplane I flew. The guy it belonged to swore up and down that it wasn't his, but it had his name engraved on it. :lol:
