Hi all!
Here`s some pics of my 68 coupe resto in progress from Norway. I have come as far as the chassis is ready to go, but the rest of the body needs a bit of welding and new paint.
I have read alot of the threads about subs- both oem and aftermarket units but ended up restoring and upgrading the original one for my car. It turned out to be pretty rusty- all 4 rear mounting holes needed to be redone.
I started of by sand blasting the whole thing to see how bad it was. I ended up making new pieces to weld in all around. (see pics)
I used thicker steel than the original and reinforced the mounts somewhat too. Otherwise its all original geometry etc.
The upgrade consist of 11inch powerdiscs from SSBC, harder springs,KYB gas shocks and a power rack and pinion from Unisteer. The car will not be driveable before earliest summer 09 so I`m pretty excited about handling quality compared to the oem box.
Otherwise the car will look stock with 15" rally wheels and also the stock 327cid 4bb 275hp engine followed by an TH200-4R gearbox. :lateral:
