I saw a post on another site a couple of years ago where a guy wanted to make sure he got ALL the oil out during the oil change, so drained it, then took it for a drive around the block with the plug out...... about a week later the motor wasnt running right so posted a question on why.....

And another....... guy detailed his car....liked the "new tire look" he got with the Armorall on the tires so did the treads too..... made them look brand new !!!! all nice and shiney...... he posted to find out why his car wasnt handling right anymore......

There are some dumbass people out there.....

Don't forget the guy on the VW message board that heard about extrude honing; he assumed he was supposed to pass abrasive through the ports while the engine was running and sucked it in through the intake.

Ugh...I don't know how you can frequent a forum with so much garbage in the signature blocks. There's like 2 full sentences of content on each page and 100 lines of pictures of LOL Catz and cheezy animation.

you would think that this is not real but i heard storys around the dealers that my friends work at, that a tech told one of the youg kids to flush the cooling system. he cut one of the hard lines for the a/c and flushed it with water. so i would say that their are ppl out their that do thing like this. but thank god i dont know any of them

Sadly this doesn't surprise me....I've seen and met some REALLY stupid people over the years. I once had a kid call me and ask me how to get out a broken valve cover bolt and figuring he had just overtightened it I told him and he called me back and thanked me.....a little while later he called back again and said "Help, me I broke another one!"....I asked him what he was doing and he then said "I'm torqing them to spec" to which I replied "WHAT! and just what "Spec" is that....he said "90 ft/lbs".....I then said "Put the tools down and back away from the car!!!". This idiot was using a torque wrench trying to tighten the poor little 1/2 X 20 bolts into the valve covers.

Even funnier was a week later he called me and asked me why his valve cover gaskets were leaking!!!

Then we had a local guy with an '85 IROC Camaro who had this solution for his transmission mount.....I guess chevy guys CAN be that ignorant. :P

This same guy claimed that his car would do 213MPH

It goes on and on...I've got a file of pictures as well that I call my "F-stick files".

I am a member on that forum but i stay in the classic part.I hope that is a joke but i have seen worse done.A friend of mine had a rear main leaking so he filled the gap between the tranny and engine with jb weld it stopped leaking so he thought he fixed it.2 weeks later the clutch went out and guess who had to fix it.Took me a while to cut out the jb weld i cussed him for days.2nd dumbest thing i seen was a driver side half shaft on a 89 civic.I broke my strong arm trying to get the nut off even my impact the nut laughed at me so i cut it off.Find out someone welded the half shaft to the hub it was too short so they welded it in so it couldn't pop out.Seen a cracked valve covered fixed with bondo.I can go on for days about stupid things people do to cars not nothing better.
