I thought I'd share some build photos of my new project I am are starting on it's a 1967 chevelle 300 deluxe that I bought back in high school (my first car) and about 8 yrs ago I gave it the pro street treatment. vortech blown 454 th-350 narrowed 9" parallel 4-link with air ride suspension 29/18.50/15 mickey thompsons. its been fun but completely impractical. 2 yrs ago I decided to lower the car even more. and then life has been busy 1 yr ago I started my own business L&H Kustoms and this year have been busy building up my business and the 1965 mustang fastback we had at SEMA http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=16299 and now its time for my car  as time permits between jobs (evenings & weekends) Here is the rendering of the car that I had done by Jason Rushforth. If anyone is looking to have a rendering done on their car I highly recommend jason as he does great artwork and has great design ideas and just a good ol down to earth car nut
http://i370.photobucket.com/albums/oo141/lhkustoms/chevelle/mauchevelle.jpg

I am planning on using rushforth wildsides 20x12 rear and 19x8 fronts here's a shot of the wheels haven't decided on the finish yet though

well had an opportunity last night to spend some time tearing the car apart stripped the firewall removed the dash, painless wiring harness, seat and the carpet. plans call for a completely smooth firewall so I have lots of holes to fill

demo is fun I'm not gonna cut any corners planning on this car representing my shop and to help showcase fab skills I've got a lot of little mods instore for this build. I am planning on cutting the cage completely out and building a new one that will follow the a pillar and going thru the dash I hit my knees on the one that was in there every time i would get in and out of the car. plus they had to come out so I could get the dash out haha

well I had the opportunity to finish stripping the body shell down and now its ready to go to the media blaster. Now I can start tearing the chassis apart and begin its transformation.

Anyone have suggestions on what style of rear suspension would be the best choice since the parallel 4 link isn't well suited for corner carving? I would like to hear some comments suggestions on what others are using.

What kind of engineering is behind those spindles? What kind of destructive and FEA testing did you do to the spindles? How much load can the lower bushing see before it comes out or breaks? What's the price point of a pair?

Tyler the engineering and FEA testing was done by someone who designs aircraft land gear so he is well educated in stress on parts. we are finalizing our design and undergoing extensive testing as we speak these are preproduction pieces in the pictures. they will be made available soon. I am working on finalizing pricing and should have $ figures soon. Thanks for your interest

Well finally got to work on my car today (needed the therapy) got the d/s floor pan fitted and got the braces cleaned up and coated with por15 and began fitting the DSE heater delete plate im going to be welding in on the firewall. I like the look of a clean smooth firewall but it needs some shape and not just flat IMO.

Well a small update. I picked up (feel like I stole it) a barely used tko600 off of CL a few weeks ago and ordered up a quicktime bell and so I decided to pull my 6.0l off the crate and tear all the truck acc off and put on my used weiand intake on and set them up in the chassis for some motivation. I'm gonna try and spend a little time on it after I get back from sema. I am trying to finish up a 69 chevelle resto I have to have finished in 2 weeks to deliver back to the customer down in cali on my way to Vegas so I wont have much free time to spend on it until then but it sure is hard not work on it now that I am finally making some progress.

Had some down time today while waiting for parts for another project so I decided to spend a little time and narrow the rear frame rails 3" per side. I had to cut out my rear crossmember and 3 link upper mount so I will have to redo that as I did not originally intend on narrowing the rear frame. I also ordered the new RideTech single adjustable coilovers front & rear for the car and they should be here some time next week.

Just a small update. had some time this morning to fab up some gussets and got them all tacked in place. Now I just need to cut out the flat plates to finish boxing in the gussets and then do all the final welding.

Nice, Luke. Looks a lot like my own Malibu. Really want to do something similar to mine to get more drive time ( than a 1/4 mile at a time). Got mine in '72, 2 years after high school, and my 2nd car. Thanks for posting and giving me some incentive to get to work on it, again. Brought back a lot of memories.
