guys
i have searched the internet.cant find offset conversion from mm to inches.
and some opinion on how rims are measured ..nothing concrete..
i found a bunch of math homework...NOT what i was looking for
im trying to figure out 8 inches with 30mm offset = ? inches of backspace
9.5 inch 25mm offset....= ? backspace in inches..
thanks in advance

For mm to inches divide by 25.4. ie: 30mm (offset) / 25.4 = 1.18".
For the rim add 1" (1/2" each side) for the bead /lip area. ie: 8" + 1" = 9", then
divide by 2 = 4.5"
Add 1.18"(offset) + 4.5" (rim) = 5.68" backspacing
The 9.5" with 25mm offset would be 6.23" backspacing (5.25" + .98").
Does that help?
Larry.

You know what they say about teaching someone to fish...but for lazy folks like us, here's a link I ran across on Pro-Touring.com posted by Don aka "dhutton".
