We need to figure out how many Optima Ultimate Street Car Challenge videos might sell at various prices. At this point I'm only going to ask two price questions so we can tell the video company how many people would order one. The video was done by a professional company of both track and pit action!
Please click ONE above, only vote once for the max price you would pay.
Thanks, David

Thanks for taking the lead on this David - I wanted to touch base with the video guys before we left but Deb was under the weather and I kind of forgot about it ultil we were well down the road.
I think that the video could be very cool - but then again I may be biased...

I would be willing to pay up to $50..
What we should do is ask them HOW MANY orders we would need to get the price down to $50 for a DVD.
They generally have high production values and they use very nice high-def equipment.

I put $40, but could go as high as $50 if it's a good quality video. Don't tell the wife!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree, as someone that didn't have a car there or participate I wouldn't pay more for a video of the event than I would a normal DVD.

The offer to participants was $150. each for a video.
I think a lot of people would like to see it for a reasonable price. I need to prove it or they won't be likely to consider it.
I'm running 3 polls right now for 7 days.
Here, PT.com, and Team Camaro.
total is:
$40. 19 would buy, = $760
$20. 40 would buy, = $800
BUT the 19 would also buy for the cheaper price of $20. so add 380.
That's $1180. as of Nov 12, 10.40pm.
they would have to sell 7.8 videos at $150 each to get that and I didn't see many people inquiring about them at the event.
This sounds like one of those word problems in high school! :_paranoid

I got a reply from him and he will check the polls in a few days. He's going to talk to Jimi and the sponsors about it and see what they can do. I volunteered Larry at PT.com and perhaps Scott to sell them through the forum store if it would help lower distribution costs. Does Lateral-G have an online store? I don't see a link to one.

I was waiting for the same "ha ha", and thats for a 2 min. video, thats shorter than the commercial segment of your favorite tv show.
I,ll pay the $40.00 just because I was there.
I'd really like to see a 30 -60 min video for a little more.

I hope it's more than a few minutes, I thought it was more like 30 minutes or more. He said they got lots of footage.
I was at the start line in Penny, the starter told me I'd get extra points" if I did a "burnout" when leaving the pits. The video camera was right there, so I did smoke 'em a bit leaving the line, but I didn't really know how much throttle to give it so it was kinda weak. Don't tell Steve... :_paranoid

When we were sitting in the meeting in the tent, he specifically said a 2 min. HD DVD for $150. When I talked with him after the meeting, he said they normally do the same 2 min. DVD for corporation advertising for $2,000.!
If you figure 24 cars, thats about 5 -6 sec. per car if they are all in it, that may be all the "tape" there is on the Fairlane, but I would think you guys and gals would want a little more of your cars.
If the sponsors and the tv crew promote this correctly they could sell tons of these, and make some $$.
I know Lat-g and PT will push them, put an add in Hot Rod and Camaro Performers etc.
The 40 -50 of us that were there should not have to cover there entire risk.
I'm not trying to bash them, because I want a DVD really bad, but not $40. for 2 min. bad
I look forward to seeing what we can get our hands on.

I just got a reply from Chad of Carjunkietv. It's looking good for them to make a longer video of the event for us! They do short clips for vendors, but would make a longer one for us.
We should find out a final yes or no by the end of the week.
Thanks to all who participated in the poll.

What was that?
lol.. hell, I'd be pissed if you didn't smoke the tires.
I talked with Chad today, he is working something up. They have LOTS of cool video and he see's that there is interest.
Will keep this updated and thanks to David Pozzi for going point on this.

Think of that like a commercial on TV.. SUPER HIGH production values and all of that.. hell, they spend tens of thousands of $$$ on TV commercials. That's what they do for companies.
I don't think they are planning on selling us a 2-minute DVD... lol..
