Hi guys,
Has anyone tried to replace the outer wheelhouses without removing the quarter panels? The car is a '68 Firebird.
A previous owner (idiot) has replaced the quarters without adressing the outer wheelhouses. The wheelhouses are really bad with big holes where water can enter.
The fender lip of the quarters also have an incorrect angle and need to be rolled.
Can it be done?

I would check on the Body Shop forum at Camaros.net.
I want to say that it has been done by someone on there, but I'm sure it's not a fun job with the quarter on.

grease monkey,
give the guys on the board a few days to get back to you. This week is SEMA in Las Vegas and most of the guys with the knowledge are there.

I replaced my outer wheel wells on my car with the quarter on and it wasnt fun, but i did it while i was mini tubbing the car and just did the outside first and then made my new tub. I am by no means a body guy or a fabrication expert, i got screwed on some work which i paid good money for and it was all wrong and i couldnt afford to have someone else fix it so i just had to do it myself.

Thanks for the input guys!
I have no intention to change the inner wheelhouses but you think I can get the new outer wheelhouses in there and reach the welds?

I think the top lip of the outer is originally sandwiched betw the top lip of the inner and the inner quarter structure, so replacing as original may be *extremely* difficult. You could install so the top lip of the outer is on outmost side of the inner quarter structure.
