Well it was a last minute trash but the car is done! I can't even begin to thank all the people that made this car happen. So many people came through to get it done. Even the last night we thrashed all night- JayR and Brett worked until 7:00am and we pulled it out and washed it- We put it in the trailer and hit the road. I NEVER got to see it in the daylight until Vegas:D

Jared from http://www.j-rodandcustom.com/- cut and buffed the car and loaned me the trailer

On Location here at SEMA- right by the front door... that is another cool story for later.. Got the car parked and within 30 minutes Hot Rod TV filmed it and I got an offer for a magazine shoot. I can't believe we are here:_paranoid

Good on ya, brother! It was all worth it and BTW, it was 8AM! We were washing in the dark at 7! It looked incredible driving down your street into the trailer at dawn and I only wish I had been coherent enough to snap some pics but the ones you just posted made up for that! Can't wait to see it tomorrow at the show.

For those of you who haven't watched Chris' thread, this is a real homebuilt car that is in the SEMA show! The only thing Chris didn't do in his garage is spraying the silver but we sprayed the red stripes at his house and he subbed out covering the seats and doing the exhaust to a good friend who is a master with tubing. Chris and that car are the real deal and I'm stoked for him to be living the dream!

wow - car looks great! Congrats on the offer from Hot Rod as well. I always start the show right inside the doors behind you so I will walk right by it and scheck it out. 'Course I walk the whole show minus the stereo tuner crap and see 'em all but it's good to have a target here and there

Funny, I was never into 7s or 8s, only the 69s but recent history and a few cars on this site (all of them will be at SEMA) have opened my mind big time. My friend has always wanted one of the early years and now I am diggin' it - in fact he was just asked by a guy to final assemble his 67 vert Pro-Tour so I will probably be helping him a bit with that. I told my friend that instead of pay make the guy agree to let him have the car 6 weekends a year

It is awesome to see your car there in front of the entrance at SEMA. You want to talk about a guy who deserves it, Chris is that guy. I questioned whether it would get done, but not him. The guy is a warrior with a never quit attitude. Projects and people like this are what hotrodding is all about. This really is a beautiful car that was built by the owner (with a little help from some friends). It was a great experience for me and worth every minute. I just wish I could have helped more earlier on in the build. Now who is next, Jason? Hope you guys are having fun and wish I was there.
Congrats Chris, you're the man.

thanks guys for the kind words...

now for the rest of the story...on the parking spot

I only had less then a mile on the car and when I got in line to park a perma..type hose clamp wouldn't seal..sending steam everywhere, I'm feeling like an idiot and they are trying to figure out where to put me... i was way out in the back forty ( for you city folk that means out in the middle of tunerville surrounded by 4x4's) and some older guy came up and asked me if i wouldn't mind snaking between a bunch of cars to a spot that he had. YA THINK

I was praying like crazy on the way down to Vegas for a good spot:D

so I passed by several cars with the radiator sending antifreeze all over the engine compartment...QA1's dumped to the ground dragging tires all the way to the KILLER spot.

the leak is fixed, the car is clean and I'm going to sleep for like 12 hours-Chris:lateral:

I just have to say how extremely proud I am of Chris! He has worked his tail off trying to get this thing done. What was so cool is that it seemed almost impossible just a couple of days before it had to get on the trailer... but with lots of hard work (from Chris and a LOT of buddies and a LOT of prayer) it got done!!!! Thanks again to everyone who pitched in- especially those who didn't get ANY sleep on Halloween night-- you're crazymen!

You need to patt yourself on the back a little to, It's not easy to find a supporting wife in this industry. I met Chris over the Summer the night before Good Guys and we sat around in the camp and talk for a while. A great group of guys in Tacoma.

I heard that there was alot of international money changing hands at SEMA, people looking for deals on American muscle so I tried to get some in my pockets- no luck- the car is home with a list of things to finish- looking forward to driving it when the Seattle weather cooperates- Chris

I am suprised you did not get your hand slapped for the For Sale sign. Always a big No No at SEMA.

But there is some money walking around there. it was pretty strong in 2005 when the market was going crazy. Michael had the indecent proposal for Prodigy back 2005. It was a big enough number but Michael said It was not for sale. I left it up to him, but he wants to keep it forever so.......The kid was in tears when he said no. Bill had a offer for the GOAT that was hard to turn down, about a $40k profit! I had two hard hits on the Vette last year, but could not seal the deal, and it was for sale.

Again, it is a honor just to be in the show, especially as a individual. Many shops never get in.
