Old Project Needs A New Skin

I have been a member for a while but have never had any success with posting a build on here.

I am sure some of you know what this machine in the above pic is, for those who don't...... It is a mill build gage for measuring the depth of bodywork (it uses sonar to measure the depth of bodywork). As I have been told, a new fender with Emt coat will read .8mill or less, collision repair standards are 10-15mill, Rust restoration/classic restoration standards are 20-25mill these are maximum worst case specifications on small areas.
My car was acid dipped and all metal work was done, the car was supposed to have been metal finished........ The mill gage shows different, average reading on my car is 50mill with some areas so deep it can not read them.

I have been told that the whole car needs to be stripped to bare steel again to fix the above problems, I am not experienced in bodywork, so comments/help from those who know what they are looking at and know how to proceed would be appreciated.

The thread with a link to the Nova site was removed because once you clicked the link it was exactly the same post you had on here before that was closed. I asked you to re-size the pics, and told that's why they were removed from the closed thread. No problem posting the pics and asking for ideas or suggestions how to proceed, just get the pics into the normal 640 by 480 resolution size or similar. The post will not be edited or deleted unless it turns into a vendor bashing thread again.

A quote I often hear from my father-in-law does come to mind however, "never attribute to malice that which can be explained by simple stupidity." Nonetheless, the choice is now yours. Do you utilize your difficulties as an excuse to be bitter, mistrust the intentions of every shop, vendor, and fellow car enthusiast, or do you make it into the key event which spurs you and your project on to a finish far better than originally imagined?

One more reason I do 98% of everything myself. Sorry to see another shop story like this. I will say the statement in the other tread from said shop sure did not make me feel much better. Good luck to you.

Believe me, I understand the little curve balls life can throw at us! Tomorrow I go back to the orthopedic to reexamine the 2 herniated discs in my neck to see if the time for surgery has come. This is prompted by a radical increase in headaches that seem to radiate from my neck, so I have my suspicions. The 2 herniated discs were caused by a semi driver who wasn't paying attention and rear ended the car I had just purchased for my wife only 2 days before he destroyed it.

I think your instinct to strip the car to bare metal is spot on. I have a hunch you will end up doing a little cutting and welding to get all the panels to line up right.

I thought I would post this here before someone gets the wrong idea (already happened on another site)

This is a build thread with pictures of issues that my car has. If you want to know in depth details of who did what and who said what, don't bother posting the question. If you have an opinion about me or the shop, keep it to yourself please.

I made this post to get tips and comments from some of the professionals on here as my project continues.

Looking at the pics all I think you can do is strip it back to metal and start over.

I am waiting to see pics of the car all stripped. I have my fingers crossed for you that all surprises have already been made known, and that a strip will only confirm what you already thought and not discover more to repair.

Please post pics once it is stripped.

I know the front fenders are not even worth trying to fix, they have been hammered in beyond repair. The trunk lid is on an angle compared to the bumper and rear valance, yet it lines up with the quarter panets and deck lid??? I won't know exactly what is wrong untill I am allowed to strip it down, but I can only assume something warped during fab/metalwork. Quarter panels were also lap welded, that was something I specifically did not want. I will post pictures when it gets started on again, but might take a while for updates.
