Headed out today to visit my brother in Kodiak, Alaska. My wife and I are taking our 17 month old with us. This is going to be a challenge.

Got my family staying at the house taking care of the hot rods.

This is crazy, because I am transferring next month to my new location, just sold my house, am buying another house...and packing all our stuff almost the minute we get home from our trip.

Nothing like burning the candle at both ends!

We will take lost of pictures.

Going here:

Good luck Chris. If the rain and wind on the island don't get you this time of year, the bears may..... :P JK

Have a safe trip.

The trip was fabulous.

My brother and his wife were fantastic hosts. They took care of everything and gave us a great place to stay. My brother took the week off to spend with us.

The ride there and back was painfull, but better than expected having our 18 month old with us.

We saw/did:
1. Salmon running in shore
2. Sea fishing, caught halibut, black king, silvers, etc.
3. Saw a bear
4. Saw Whales jumping from the ocean
5. Took a small plane ride to see the inland bush land.
6. Enjoyed some awesome fresh cooked fish
7. Hiked in the woods
8. Fly fished for salmon in the inlets
9. Explored WWII camp remains, bunkers, pill boxes, and weapon depots
10. Met many of the locals and enjoyed their company.
11. Saw stellar sea lions, star fish, jelly fish, and many other cool sea things.
etc. etc. etc.
12. Found some COOL auto salvage. When stuff breaks down, they push it off the road and leave it. Found a 1977 Corvette among the "neglected" treasure along the coast.

The weather was between 49 and 55 degrees the whole time with some great sunshine.
