We just wrapped up a R&D session on the C6 Corvette - obviously MUCH more fun than working on a new truck application !

We really enjoyed thrashing this little beast around in "Competive Mode", which relaxes the active handling and suspension I'd guess about 30%

Playing around with the paddle shifter was also fun too! Too high of a rear end gear ratio though in this one, with second gear topping out at over 85 MPH.
30 MPG was definitely impressive though!

Re-adjusting the brake pedal height was simpler with the targa roof stowed in the back (and left me sore for a few days afterwards!)

Hey Scott, am I slipping or? I can't figure out how to have the images come up - maybe you have hotlinking disabled? Mod this post if possible to show the pics?

Paul,

Wrap the images in the IMG tags like this:

URL

They'll show up then.

That's classic Paul... all in the name of performance.

BTW... I couldnt get the IMG wrap to work either.

I finally figured out why the images won't fly, and this now becomes an FYI for others running the latest available softwares. Remember when you could never use certain characters in file names like "/" or "*" or "&" ? The latest softwares will now allow you to run these characters in file names, yet the rest of the world hasn't quite caught up yet = the VBB bulletin board softwares do not like the "&" in the URL's I had listed. Changing the filenames from C6R&D1 to C6RND1 = success!

And of course the action shot!

I wish I had taken a better pic of the "dual mode exhaust", as it was really neat to have a car that is quiet as a door mouse when just rollin' down the road, yet really sound off when the loud pedal was applied!

Not the best pic, though you can somewhat see the vacuum pots on top of the center two exhaust tips:

When you are just rollin' down the road, all of the exhaust exits the outer most two tips, and the butterflies in the center two tips are closed (sucked shut by the vacuum pots). When you hammer it, the butterflies open up and she really talks to you! Flashlight inspection into the mufflers seemed to show a straight through shot when these butterflies are open. :unibrow: Looks like something I'm going to want to incorporate into our next build!

that vacuum line with the green clip is for the exhust flaps. if you pull the line from that check valve they will stay open all the time. learned that from a engineer at the corvette plant
