First pass right off the trailer was 11.75 @ 123.94 mph with a 1.95 60'. Second pass was 11.64 @ 123.8 with a 1.875 60'.

Congrats, definitely very quick and he's getting quicker as he goes. Running Nitto drag radials.

WOW! That car is pulling on the back half, I'll bet 25 to 30mph from the 1/8th to the 1/4. If he can hook a 1.6 60foot 10.90s :woot: Awesome job!!!

Scott: please post the splits- killer car!!!

just had an oil down on the track, and since it's going to take a while to clean up and he has a 2 hour drive home he's calling it a day.

Congrats Scott, I think that's a very successful first trip to the track!

11.50's & 22 MPG.. How cool is that!! I'm sure that is just on the motor - right? A little more track time on put a little the squeeze on it - 10's will not be an issue. Congrats Scott!!

he has mentioned that before I believe. He's very happy with this LS7 and Katech cam combo.

That is true, but he also change the suspension, wheels/tires, mini-tub, ect. since those days...pretty much a differant car now.

but with that saind, the LS7........:woot:

Can't say enough about the LS motors. Scott's car is sure awesome. I think when Chevrolet designed these motors they designated LS because it stands for LIKE SEX.

Awesome Scott! I'm planning to go down there next Saturday for their "Hallowild" event. I hope the weather is as good then as it was today, and with the South wind too. :unibrow:

Thanks guys, I'm really happy with those numbers, it was more than I was expecting. I was hoping to hit 120 and maybe dip into the high 11's.

I guess that shows that the 2 1/2" Corsa mufflers don't hurt too bad. The Nitto's worked great and they have 4,000 miles on them.

This wan't my first time to the track, just the first time with this combination. As Paul noted, it's considerably better than my 434 that ran a 12.0 at 114.

congrats again Scott. Kinda backs up your thoughts that this combo just keeps pulling..................

What RPM were you launching at? Do you have a lower rev limiter that you use on the line?

XcYZ
10-18-2008, 08:43 PM
I was leaving at about 3500 with a quick clutch release, shifting at about 6800. The Nitto DR's really like heat, I was doing long burnouts. I'm really impressed with how well a 30 series DR can hook. Going into today, I wasn't sure if I would be able to do a sub 2 second sixty.

No rev limiter on the line.

What track did you go to Scott? The one over toward Eau Claire? Brainerd? (long trip)?

At Great Lakes Dragaway when you did the commercial, did you notice it feels like you are going uphill when you are at the line? I ran my car there when it still had the big block in it and I felt like I would have rolled backward out of the beams without the line loc. I had a MSD 2 step in the car at the time and launched with the 5k chip in it. (11.90 @ 118) If I would have had to concentrate on launch RPM, feeling like I was going to roll backwards, and the tree, I would have screwed something up.

Good numbers! I can't wait to have mine back together with the LS power to see what it'll do. Should be somewhere in the mid 11's like you I imagine.

Jeff, I was at Cedar Falls, IA. It was the track that was scheduled as part of the Power Tour, but was flooded out. They've been runing the 1/8th, but just recently opened it back up to 1/4 mile.

When I was at Union Grove, I didn't notice the car rolling, but I wasn't doing the normal deal there, either. I was staging at the tree for good TV. lol The good thing about being at Union Grove in July was that I learned what the car wanted for a decent launch.

60ft is where you make up your ET. Your 123mph should yield some nice low 11-teens or high 11.0's. Get that 60ft under control and you'll see some lower ET's for sure.
Good job for the first time.

Was this on the motor or "gas"? Pretty trick for a street car that should be able to handle as well?:hail:

Hey Scott wow that's impressive. That's haulin'!!! And it handles??? LOL! Like Steve D. said above - drop that 60 ft. and your times will drop a lot. I think a Mickey Thompson ET Street would get you 1.60s 60-ft times. I think you're car has a high 10 in it atleast. Depending on how much Nos you have it could be a 9 second car and still be driveable to the track. My buddy and I used to drive 40 minutes down the highway to the track with our Mustangs on ET Streets. We'd always be checking the weather reports before hand makin sure no rain was coming LOL! I don't recommend them for daily driving duties but you can drive on them!

Awesome Scott...hey we can't give the car all the credit either, Scott - seems you've been down the strip a couple times before???

Awesome. The duster left quick but it looks (hard to tell because of angle) that you caught him quick. I agree with others a little tweaking and you are 11.0's. Just a killer car!

I think there's more in it if I wanted to get serious about setting it up for the quarter, but I'm really happy with how the car works right now.

Was that run on the old posi unit?

Those DR looked like they hook pretty good. Fast car!

XcYZ
10-21-2008, 06:12 AM
Thanks Payton. I'm really happy with the Nitto DRs. I wasn't sure what pressure to run them at, so all my passes were at 25psi. Because they are so wide, I was thinking that if I went too low, they would be riding on the shoulders and lose some traction in the center of the tire.

I got the Truetrac in last week. The old carrier is for sale. :D

I liked the (unsanctioned) launch video too. Thanks for sharing, it's
encouraging.
