Need info on Vortec heads. Thinking of buying a long block that has Vortec heads already on it. Do i want Vortec heads?

They have better flow numbers that L-98/ZZ4 heads and would be an up grade. If I remember correctly they are 170cc intake ports. Stock heads have a valve lift limit due to retainer to guide clearance. Scoggin Dickey machines the guides on the ones they sell which allows .500" lift. Search Chevy High Performance mag and others they have dynoed and flow tested these alot. Great for a daily driver 350. Best production iron head GM ever made.

Check out the 400 hp crate motor that Year One sells. Got this engine in a 36 chevy pick up and it runs like a raped ape. The motor is a Vortec engine with flat top pistons, it has a 512 lift cam with factory roller lifters. The heads have had the guides cut down for the higher lift cam, and also had 2.02valves installed, made 417 HP. $3100 to your door step.
