Currently I am not in a position to do this, but I was curious how many are going to Monday? It says deliveries will be in the spring. Kind of makes me sad though. This could have been brought to market 2 yrs ago. I hope the crunch doesnt wipe performance from the dealers off. Their development programs have created some excellent designs aka the ls1, ls2, ls3, ls6 etcetera .

The way things are going that might be a Dodge Camaro or maybe a Chevy Challenger. Will see on Monday.
Cool car and hope it will bring some much needed interest to the showrooms.

I just hope GM still exists in 2010.

haha, yea seriously.
but really, GM isn't going anywhere. worst case scenario is they'll get bought out by someone else.

My Uncle owns our local GM dealership. I am writing him a large "deposit" check Monday. My business needs the write off this year, before everything may change next year! The camaro will be our newest "business" car, if it ever delivers:thumbsup:

just got off the phone with my dealer and ordered two cars, one red jewel, the other silver both with ls3,422hp, 6 spds, black leather.ss2  package gets the 21'' wheels only.now its hurry up and wait.was on the phone with him as he ordered on gm computer as you can't order certain things, so he called to see witch options i wanted and what to change.can't order white this time around, looks as both cars will come in around 40k or less.red one is for my wife she wanted the black stripes.silver is for me got the hurst short throw shifter in both cars as well............shawn
I saw the pricing at CZ28. Looks pretty respectable considering that's retail pricing.

I can't imagine anyone will need to pay any over MSRP. I wouldn't. Market will probably be saturated in no time.

from what i have been reading alot of places are taking 500 dollar deposits and there is no reason to pay over msrp.

Got the order confirmation from GM today.
The story behind this is kinda funny. Had promised my son, who attended the start of Hot Rod Power Tour 2006 in Orlando and who's two favorite cars were Steevo's Twist Machine and the Silver Prototype Camaro, that we would get one as soon as they made them. I didn't really think this would ever happen. Then the Transformers movie came out with "Bumblebee" and he has been relentless since. So I get to blame the purchase on him...lol.

Looking forward to the twin turbo option...http://www.camaro5.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif
There is a big list of dealers that are MSRP or below. Most want a $500/$1000 deposit. Very reasonable.

I hope you are right. There is nothing I hate worse than when the dealers do the douche move & mark up the cars 10-20k over MSRP screwing the customers. If they don't mark it up I will buy a Camaro over the Challenger for that reason.

If you walk into a dealership to buy a new Camaro and the dealer has the car marked up over MSRP......walk out and find another Chevy dealer.
You'll be doing a GM employee and his family a huge favor.
Our best defense against dealerships who do that is to not give them our business.

Here is a link. It has a list compiled of dealers nationwide who are MSRP or below. There is also a list of who to avoid.

That is exactly what happened here. I emailed the local dealership. Here was the response:
"Hello, Bruce we are taking Sold orders on the Camaro, as far as pricing we don't have these figures yet, on our end the price will be $5,000. over M.S.R.P.what ever that may be we have no control over that, the deposit would be $1,000. if you have any questions please call me xxxxx yyyyy Sales Manager at ..."
I gave him a pleasant but obnoxious response and then immediately called a dealer on "the list" and voila, no markup and they now have the sale. Free enterprise at work.
