Thought I'd share an experiment I started toying with about a year ago, and dabbled with more over the past few months....
I have created some 3D (red/cyan) photos for clients in the past using two photographs taken at slightly different angles, but always wanted to try it with a single illustration... Suffice to say, it's about 500 times more difficult, but the results are pretty slick... So break out the red/blue 3D glasses if you have 'em (or borrow the kids' if you have little ones with 3D movies/books) Hope you dig it:

Brian,

Was this created in Adobe Illustrator or was it Illustrator and Photoshop?
Just curious. Awesome piece! Can't wait to see more.

:hail:

Thanks,

Don

Wish I had 3d glasses but it does look pretty cool:thumbsup: .Was that a filter used to create it or trial and error?

The artwork is strictly Illustrator, with the final 3D compositing in Photoshop... Not a filter (though I wish there were one for this....) It was a lot of adjustments in channels and layers, moving levels and pulling hair out....
The first image was the hardest, with the following in the series going much smoother...

Thanks again for checking it out.

Smart and talented! The 2D image looked killer in Rod&Custom this month but this takes it up a notch or ten! If you guys haven't seen the article, the art and text are worth the purchase price. You have my address for where to send the print, right? Way to go, Brian!

Thanks, Jason! Wow... huge compliment!! Hell yes I have your print ready to fly! Glad you dig it, and thanks again for the kind words... Fun piece to create, and the icing on the cake is hearing feedback like this!
