I'm am building a firebird for the wifes in our family to drive and was curious about what parts you guys would or would not recommend. The car is being built with a stock Ls1/4l60 combo. Question is do I use stock subframe or swap it, do I use aftermarket control arms and if so which ones, what brakes should I use, whos engine mounts do you like (brp, autokraft, s&p etc.) ? I've been looking at CPP stuff and was curious what you guys thought of their products (brakes, control arms etc.) I've got DSE subframe connectors and mounts but nothing else ordered. Any thoughts would be great.

Budget, how well do you want it to go, stop and turn. Look you are going for?

As it sounds like this is going to be more like a daily driver then a race car
I would stay with the stock subframe and just rebuild it with poly bushings and
Hotchkis suspension kit. ATS spindle would be a nice upgrade and then of course the car need upgraded brakes.

If you are going to have air conditioning there is a case that can be made to use an Art Morrison subframe with the stock LSx accessories, oil pan and off the shelf C5 brakes to offset the cost of the subframe. This has been discussed on pro-touring.com:

This is the approach I took on my 69 Firebird build.
