72 Pantera- 408cid bored and stroked Windsor SBF making roughly 600hp, adjustable coilovers at all four corners, 6 piston Wilwood brakes, full carbon fiber dash and console and a little shiny stuff all over for good measure. Car is brand new.. 3 year build where it was taken to bare metal shell and started over. All suspension upgraded and chromed every piece front and rear. Custom Stainless Steel headers and exhuast. Several little body mods and smoothing everywhere. Also had to drop the floor pans to give more me headroom as I am tall.

She will be driven!! Had it out a couple days ago running around the twisty canyon roads here and it was a blast.

The car is simply beautiful. I remember from the TV shows on the Corvette build you are a little on the tall side. How do you fit in the Pantera? My dad had one years ago and I remember them being a little tight inside.

Jeff- I am 6'6" so it took some work to get me to fit. First the floors are dropped around 2" and then the seat mounted very flat to the floor and very thin cushioning on the bottom of the seat. Still a little tight but seems to get comfortable after a few minutes behind the wheel. The sacrifices we make to drive cars that are cool!!

I have seen a lot of Panteras, used to be my favorite car when I was younger. Some of those were crazy builds but this is going to be the best one I have seen, nice mods but not overboard.

Looks great. Did you stick with 5-speed? What about the rest of the suspension, did you use stock stuff or aftermarket? Are those Budnik wheels? Wheel/tire dimensions?
I'm still in the pantera-project-on-paper-stage. I really would like to go with 6-speed, all-alu-big-cube- EFI-motor, Wilwoods, Carbonfiber hood and trunk, those original parts are very heavy!
Any more pics?

Jay- Yes it still has the 5 speed ZF that has been all rebuilt. The suspension is stock arms and uprights that have been smoothed and chromed mated is aftermarket adjustable coilovers. I considered the aluminum GT5 aftermarket arms but if you are not flaring the fenders you dont need the extra length they provide or the $6000 price tag. The front bonnet is not that heavy nor the rear decklid but you can do the carbon fiber and save some weight. The reason I didnt is #1 I was going to paint it anyway cause I do not like the 2 tone on the outside of the car and #2 takes a lot of work to fit them from what I have heard. Yes the current wheels are Budnik and are 18s front and rear. I have new wheels in production for it which should be done soon.
Clil- You can have it , for a price!?

i have heard the stock tranny has some durability issues when you push 500? Hp.. is that so?? also just let me compliment you on a very very tastefull row of desicions leading up to that result... i personally prefer brushed to polished.. but its right on the money Imho.... what wheels are you putting on that thing?? 3 pc compomotive.. or somthing in the fikse line??
as to weather it qualifies as pro touring... it is the very soul of PT...
cudos!

Mostest Beautifulest Pantera EVERRRRRR!!!!!!
It would be very interesting to see it run a road course. I'd be willing to bet it would out perform most Pro-Toured cars.

Boulder69- It would be fine if it ended up in Sac. That would just mean I would have to build something else right away.:D
Frank- Thanks for the compliment.
