ok so i got the point on my last thread and started to fab a spoiler and a front air dam with splitter... the spoiler is prety much finished.. its in 5mm aluminum, (i know its thick and heavy, but it wont bend if some idiot "testīs" it, and i can countersink the screws holding it....)

the airdam is a work in progress, splitter will be 5mm aluminum and the steel will be painted to match the grey on the car... the rusty bolts in the pic is where the turnbuckles will go, i just placed them there to give an idea of how it will look... the splitter will be pulled about 1/2 - 1 inch back compared to the top part of the bumper.. the center hole will be ducted to the radiator and the holes in the sides will (if i decide to add them) be ducted to cool the front brakes...

whats the verdict guys?? remember im trying to give it a pro touring look, and the wheels will be 18 inch forgelines...

also it will be lowered about an additional inch ince i have the wheels on there, i just wanted to wait cutting coilds til they settled and i had the right wheels on

Thats gonna look sick. Have you put any thought into tucking the bumpers closer to the car?

i have given it alot of thought.... im alittle worried about the chrome after... but this is actually a good time to do it,

do i have the chrome stripped first?? or do i cut and grind the chrome so i can weld it and then leave it to the chromer to smooth ??

very cool... I think when you get the total package done it will look even better as a whole. I have been thinking about the same thing with my camaro.

Strip the bumper first of the chrome then weld and cut. I have learned this the hard way.

Looks great. The rear spoiler looks right at home on that body style.

Have you put any thought into tucking the bumpers closer to the car?yes the spoiler looks sweet! but that was the first thing that stood out when i say the pics too... it looks like toy have the fabrication skill to do it so i would attempt to mod both bumpers i really like your car but the bumber just dont flow with the rest of the car...maybe doing them body color on top of tucking them might help. but anyways looks sweet!

I know this is a older thread you started, but wanted to know the outcome of your attempt at a front airdam with a spliiter?

If you got it it done wanted to know if you had any picture you could share ?

Thanks

Love it..

Hey if you can make a rear one for a '68 let me know... my last attempts to get one ended in buckets of fail. lol

I really like those cars, they just look good fixed up.
