Here's a pretty sweet Impala being built to tour next year. this one will be a handful. It's received a full compliment of sheet metal work as well as our chassis and suspension.

The body bolts right up to our 59-64 chassis.

wow that thing is going to be nice! What are you guys running for engine and trans? Also what size wheel and tire are going on it?

front tires are going to be 255/35-20 on a 20x8.5" rim, and the rears are set for a 305/40-22 on a 22x12", but the rockers are going to sit 4" off the ground at ride height. It is one of my favorite cars in the shop. The chassis reminds me of an old RC/10 chassis with the side flares for the battery packs:unibrow:
As far as drivetrain, it's going to be running a TT LS motor of some type. originally it was going to get a 4L80, but with all the extra rotating mass of that damn converter, we're just sticking in a built 60 and be done with it. We'll do all the fab work for the turbo's here in house, we just won't be building the motor. we'll tune it here though.

Not a whole lot to show, but the steering is in as well as the master cylinder/booster is installed.

cool project!! nice to see some nice tig welds instead of mig for a change, in my mind its what sorts probuilds from backyard builds, mind you there are a lot of probuilds that get migged too! i am not flaming home builders as they dont all have the cash to buy a tig machine but its what sets the top cars apart. Also, what make are those steering joints ? they look a far steeper angle than borgeson joints can handle, could be useful to know for guys struggling for space, gonna be a nice ride

Thanks, the guys do good work, I'm just glad they don't yell at me to go back to the office when I stop them to take pics, LOL.
The U-Joints are Unisteer's and if anyone needs a set, drop me a line, I've got hundreds (literally) in stock.

I agree with that. The TIG welds look incredible. Amazing work.
