I have been fooling with this for about a week now. First it was a bad master, then pump, then a bad hydroboost, today was leaky lines.
Finally got the car on the road and all seemed great for about 2 blocks.
First thing I lost power steering, went to hit the brakes and the pedal went to the floor. Then everything came back for about a block and then when I applied the brakes they stayed applied. O, then the pump started to howl.
WTF
Hydroboost, master, and pedal assembly are from an 85 GN. Pump and Gear box are from an 84 GN.
Any help would be excellent. I am out of ideas.

A hydroboost setup without power steering pressure will act like manual brakes. You still have brakes, they're functional, but the pedal would just be really hard, and the pedal won't go to the floor. Sounds like you have a different problem (at least with that part of the scenario).

Thats what I cant figure out. With the engine off, brakes feel great. With the engine on, all sorts of wierd things are felt in the brake application. Sometimes the pedal is hard, and other times it is really soft and drops to the floor. I have bleed the brakes multiple times, so I am pretty sure there is no air in the lines.

The hydroboost itself has to bleed out all the air bubbles in the fluid. Make sure the level stays up.
