I'm thinking about getting the rear disc conversion kit for my 68... anyone done this? is it worth it?

What do you have in the front, stock discs or something better?
I have done it on all four corners, see my webpage for info.

I used some brackets (you can find on ebay for about $75), 2nd-gen camaro 11" rear rotors, and 3rd gen camaro front calipers (no e-brake) and hoses, along with a '68 vette master cyl. and a wilwood adjustable proportioning valve. Other than the brackets and prop-valve, it's all stuff you can find at NAPA. I'm into them for about $400 for the complete setup. My rear drums needed work anyway, and this was pretty cheap and easy to do.
This was well worth it. They stop great and look cool too

I have stock front disc conversion kit from SSBC, i was looking at the rear disc conversion kit for the same application.
Derek, do you have a parts list? some items are missing from your post. Thanks

Then I think you should take a look at the rear disc kit that they have. Its important that you get a sytem that is balanced and that the mastercylinder can work with it.

The master cylinder i bought with the first front disc conversion kit is about %50 larger than the manual brake system, so i think it will work, i should call SSBC and find out.

This is what my prices were when I did the swap a year ago. I shopped around for the cheapest parts (all the same anyway "cardone" brand remans regardless of where I bought them, and new aftermarket (made in USA) rotors)
$75 - caliper brackets (pr)
$84 - 80 Trans-Am rear rotors (11" vented-$42 ea.)
$56 - 85 Camaro FRONT calipers (no e-brake-$28 ea, loaded-with core charge)
$42 - '68 Corvette NON POWER 4-wheel disc master cyl (bolts onto stock chevelle power-booster for power-brakes)
$50 - Willwood Adjustable Proportioning Valve
$32 - '85 Camaro Front brake hoses (may be a better alternative, but that's what I used)
$10 - various brake lines to eliminate stock prop. valve/ dist. block.
$10 - Brake Fluid
$359 - TOTAL (note* add $75+ for 85 Seville calipers with E-brakes)
Here's a pair of the brackets on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/REAR-DISC-BRAKES-Camaro-Chevelle-Impala-1965-79_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ42605QQitemZ79936467 90QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
These are the exact same as what I have, except I found them cheaper from a guy in Iowa who makes them and sells them for $75/pr.
At the swap at "Back to the 50s" this year I bought 3 pairs for $50 (for all  ) and sold 2 sets for $75 each and kept the 3rd set for my next project.

Hello I have a 73 camaro with factory front disc brakes. I would liket to upgrade to disc in the rear. Will the brakets you bought on ebay work? What brakes can I put on those brakets?
