I bought the recent issue of Classic Chevy's and found this concept which Brian from Problem Child Kustoms calls Project W with an all aluminum blown 409!

Sounds cool! Who makes an aluminum W-Block?

Shiny Side Up!

No one to the best of my knowledge makes one.

In the article Brian said he was really playing up the 'dream car aspect' in this "fictional '56" using an aluminum 409, CVT tranny, E85 etc.

There was an article in one of the mags on the aluminum block for the W motors. I'll look for it.

Good catch Mark...

FWIW here's the latest from 08-28-08 by Bob Walla who's been producing 409 heads.

"Not a lot of progress yet Mike, Unless you count getting the patterns done and some castings poured. Got most of the #'s for programming into the machine. Fixtures are done. Just waiting my turn. Hope to strart cutting in October now. Need to get one finished and build something huge."
