Shifter Recommendation for T56 GTO Trans

I just put a T56 tranny out of a 2006 GTO into my 65 GTO. The shifter no longer has the set back linkage. I need a shifter that mounts directly to the tranny. Any suggestions?

can you use a a hurst shifter if not maybe just get and cut the shaft off and weld a new one that will work the boot will cover it up just my .02:cheers:
