Once again it's Friday & it's time to start to wind down & let the old brain cells drift for a while. Ok, so the cars finished & on the road, weathers fine & everythings cool in the garden, but Winter's just around the corner. What plans have you got to do to your car next, will it remain the same or is there another build in the pipeline???

Nigel,

Remember that most of the guys here are building their cars at the moment. Just a few of us can enjoy driving them :D But as you say, fall and winter is coming in just a few weeks.

Myself I am planning to throw out the bigblock and replace it with a LS1/T56 combo. I have a buyer for the old stuff and if everything goes as planned I'll receive the payment today.

Its not just a few guys that are "building" their cars. I would say everyone is...because in reality...they are never finished! I mean look at the Mule, the thing has changed a ton since it was "completed"...even the best cars are never done.

Winter is just the time to make the big changes because it off the road anyway.

Me: Ill be at school so not much will change, but it will be snug as a bug in the garage...

I'm taking my running, driving, safe, reliable, fun car and yanking the body off the frame, and re-doing the whole chassis, dropping in an LT1, and redoing my interior. Of course I won't start until mid October, and it needs to be done by my wedding in May. ...and I need to do it on the tightest budget imaginable, doing it all myself, and I don't have a clue what I'm doing :D

well, my cars "down AND out" at the moment, just waiting for it to come back from the blasters so's I can get on with it
The reason for the question was that most people tend to alter things over the winter & I was curious as to any changes you guys might be making. As to those of us that haven't even got a car on the road yet, (well spotted race-rodz, checking to see if you were awake there lol ) I was curious as to how things have changed from your original plans. Mine was originally gonna be a full on race replica of the Penske/Donohue '69 car, but now has changed into a PT/race car.(oh, the problems with a fertile imagination!!, I've built it dozens of times already & even driven it you know.......it's all in the mind :unibrow: )

How about some more pics of your cars in the build up stages posted on the site?????

WEDDING!!! Yeah you better hurry up before May because time quickly diminishes "I do". Those are powerful words.

As for me, I am daydreaming of my car being back on the road. I will try this weekend to get the front suspension parts off my frame so I can either soda blast it or just wire wheel it. Then coat it with POR15 or etching primer and paint. Then comes the fuel & brake lines. Also, I want to paint under the body while it is up in the air.

and I almost forgot about body work. Now that will more than likely be in the dead of winter when it's real cold out. If I get a big enough bonus, I may order my C5 brake kit.

Mind you, all this could change before the weekend is official.

My car is driven almost daily but it's still a work in progress. This year,I've already added a complete Air Ride suspension set-up with Shockwave coilovers & four way independent control, along with a new custom exhaust system,Vintage Air Frontrunner, and Vintage Air a/c. Right now,I'm getting everything ready to install my new Arizen seats next week. In two weeks,I hope to drive the car down to Houston to have its new stainless exhaust bezels installed in the rocker panels. After the Goodguys event in October,I'm going to install some Edelbrock Performer RPM heads & intake,Carb Shop 670 Holley, and a new Lunati Voodoo hyd roller cam & Comp lifters on the car's SBC.
Future plans are to install a 93-95 LT5 cammer motor.
