I can't find lead to do body filler. Does anyone know where to get it?
Marcus.
I'm pretty sure Eastwood still sells it... I think they call it body solder in the catalog.

Thanks.I saw eastwood has that and lead substitute...
Does anyone happen to know the mixture for body work. My buddy says you can get like a 60/40 lead/zinc mixture rather than 100% lead being too soft. Does this ring a bell?

I think true lead is hard to find now. The EPA stuff is pretty strict. I think most guys are using the body solder in place of real lead...

Even better, a number of companies are now selling body solders that substitute copper and zinc for lead (still combined with tin) to form safer filler materials
Thats from the article link you posted..... I was under the impression that most of the body solders were now in this group since I've seen alot of solders being ground with power tools and no respirators etc which is a big no-no with real lead....
I'm sure you can find lead, just not as easy as before.
I may be wrong.... I've never used either one....
