I ran into a pretty cool car at a customers house today. 1968 Shelby GT500. It was her brothers car and apparently, he was the original owner. He died 21 years ago and she inherited the car. He did swap engines, the lady wasn't sure why, but the #'s matching block is gone. It's a big block, I didn't get the chance to see if it was a 427 or a 428. It did have the Cobra valve covers and air cleaner. Power steering and a auto trans. All original paint from what I could tell. Red paint, all the correct badging. Black GT500 decals on the bottom. It is a real Shelby, that much I'm sure of. Also black interior and it had the snake emblem on the center console. And the car was a convertible with a black top. The roll bar has disappeared somehow.

She said she wants to sell it, been holding it in the garage for too long.

I said, what do you want for it? ( I'm figuring easy $50k) " Give me 50K and drive it home" RIGHT, I have that in my pocket. I did call a buddy and he wants to see the car.

Anyone interested? Send me a PM and I'll put you in touch with her.

Hmm... reminds me of an all-original survivor in my neck of the woods. Time to check in on that one again.
