Tonight a Porsche Carrera came up behind me on the freeway, it was pretty much traffic but on the exit where I should go off it cleared. He was still behind me so I floored it. This offramp is pretty cool, first there is about 600 ft of straight road and then it is a 270 degree turn up to a bridge. This turn just gets tighter and tighter. I have driven it many times so I know it well.

Going in to the turn the Porsche is still behind me. I downshift to 3rd and then just pedaling through it with squeling tires and on the outlet I usually floor it again. The Porsche was gone! :D I saw him again when I was about 300 ft out on the bridge. After the bridge there is a redlight and he came up next to me, we smiled at each other. Guess who had the widest grin :D

Jan, still smiling

Myself and katz had a similar, but not quite as exciting time tonight. We raced a Lamborghini Gallardo. He won, but it wasn't a fair fight in my opinion. See, we were buying Katz a new computer, and the guy got the jump on us walking out of the store. Once we saw him get into the 'G, we sped up to get in the 69, trying to catch him. Alas, he made the light, we didn't (darned race harnesses). Those cars are *that* nice.

Did get a nice response a few minutes later though? On a double wide road, finally got a bit of room, so I took the car from 4k RPM to rev limiter (I have no speedo, and darned I need to move rev limiter from the 6800 RPM for the previous motor to the 7400 RPM for the current). Third gear, TREMEC TKO, 3.90:1 rear gear (anyone care to tell me how fast I was going? 315/40/17 rear tire). At the next light, a guy that we whizzed past was hanging out the window saying that the car was just amazing, and other ego-stroking comments, he was completely stoked. Completely. Made me feel really good to give someone else the stoke factor, maybe he'll build his own car?

Oooooh-myyy-gooooodnessssss. I love this stuff.

I LOVE this spirit! \

IMHO dump the 3.90's for something lower, as I did. I went to 3.25's and haven't looked back. I also gurantee a WIN in my lane if I could find that scenrio!!

To outrun a Porsche in a handling situation is awesome!
