As always, I haven't posted in a great while and you all probably don't remember me. I am forgetful... Oh well, I am a t-shirt designer and everything I do is for shirts. Everything is built in color seperations, 8 colors max. Here's a few cars I did this year and late last. They are removed from their respective shirt designs/backgrounds so you can see just the car(s) itself.

This is what I do. I have the upmost respect for you guys on here because you all are the true designers. You are taking something from nothing and "designing" it. I am just duplicating what you all did initially. My hat is off to you all. I am in awe of the work on here and it is humbling to see your work and then go back and look at mine. I apologize for not having the correct type of car(s) on here, but I have never been asked my someone with that kind of car to do shirts. In my defense, these are "G-machines" though. Some are many g's (when they leave)!!!

Great work Tyler! Do you do your work in both Photoshop and Illustrator?

If so, in Photoshop, do you separate in Channels? Oh yeah...I noticed some 3-d work as well! I really like the S-10.

Truth be told, I do everything in photoshop, lineart, coloring, everything...BUT my lettering/names which I do in Illustrator. That is as far as my expertise goes w/ vector stuff. As far as 3D stuff, I have no idea about it. I failed my 3D class in school 10 years ago 'cause I just couldn't get it. I even own Poser so and bought some pinup girls so I could pose them in certain angles and whatnot and I can't even figure out how to load them into the program! As far as channels...nope, don't know nuthin' about them either. I build the design w/ layers. The design is condensed down to 8 total layers when it is all said and done, but during the design process, I may have as many as 80-100 layers. About 1.5g worth!

Nice work! Are any of these intended for black shirts? How do you get a color to punch out like that on a dark shirt?

Some are on white shirts, some are on black. It is best to design everything for black shirts so if they decide to do white, you still have the black shirt design ready to go. To design just for white and then have someone tell you they want them to be on black later on down the line is a p.i.t.a. I can't really describe to you how to make them turn out the way they do. It is all about the color layering, white base, the order in which you print the colors, etc. etc.

Here are some examples on black...

These designs were only intended to go on black and are supposed to be dark and grungy looking. No bright outstanding colors in here...

But this one here was intendde to go on both white and black and the design needed to stay true for both, so it was done a little differently. It looks just as good on either shirt.

These here were only intended to go on white. That was a good thing because it just wouldn't look as good on any other color.

...also, black shirts are harder to design for, but the benefit of them is whatever you put on them pops very well. That is the nature of black shirts. The same design on black and white shirts will generally look better on black, color wise. BUT... the detail is a lot crisper on white because of the differences in the way you have to print the two and the difference in the design.
